Pallavi was up before the alarm clock on the bedside table could even ring. This wasn't because she was good at waking up early. Rather it was because of her husband sleeping beside her and his clinginess. She glanced down at the heavy arm that was wrapped around her slim waist and sighed as she sunk further into the bed, underneath the blankets.
"Raghav," she whispered and tried to remove his muscled arm away from her body. "Subah ho gaya. Utto."
In response to her soft voice, he lightly squeezed her waist and pulled her even closer to his asleep frame.
"Raghav, mujhe kaam par jaana hai. Utto please," Pallavi said and she tried to detach herself from his embrace.
"Na," the man muttered and buried his face into the nape of his wife's neck. "Don't leave."
"Raghav," she stressed out his name but the man just ignored her. "Mere customers intezar kare honge. Chodo na."
"Alarm bhi abhi baaja nahin hai. Go back to sleep," he said in a sleepy tone.
Pallavi just sighed in defeat, knowing her husband wouldn't sit still till he got what he wanted -- a few more minutes in bed with her. "Theek hain. But only until the alarm clock rings."
He just hummed and flipped her around so her back faced his chest. He then pulled her in towards him so he could smell the shampoo of her hair. Strawberry. Like always. He smiled into her hair as she grumbled something about how he easily moved her around according to his will.
No less than five minutes later, Pallavi's alarm clock rang. But before she could get out of bed and use the bathroom, Raghav got up and closed the door in her face.
"Raghav!" Pallavi yelled in frustration. "Mujhe sach me kaam par jaana hai. Tumhaare jaise kaam chor nahin hoon mein. Tu please baar aakar kar jo bhi tum kar raha ho."
"Kya?" He laughed on the other side of the door. "Tum chathi ho ki me bathroom ke baar naaloon? Bina paani ya...?"
"Raghav! Please don't shower now! I have to shower too and you'll just waste my time!"
"The door is open if you want to join," he sang out over the loud sound of the water pounding down on the shower flower.
"Raghav, seriously, baba. Aisa maat karna."
"Already kar chuka hu, Saree ka Dukaan! Do options hai tumhaare paas. Yaa tum wait kar lo yaa tum mere saath shower kar le," he offered. It wasn't like Pallavi had much of a choice anyway.
She sighed and glanced at the digital clock's glaring red numbers as it rested on her bedside table. It was already eight o'clock and she had to be at the store in thirty minutes. Just shower and leave, Pallu. Don't get caught up in admiring his body again, she told herself. She hoped today her husband wouldn't try to distract her, especially when she had to be at the shop in a short amount of time. "Okay, mein andar aari hoon."
