The Bachelorette

Chapter 1

“Good afternoon, and welcome to The Bachelorette! My name is Louis Tomlinson, and I’m your host this bright heavenly Hawaiian evening.”

The screen zooms out, and shows not only the handsome young man, but also the grand mansion behind him, and the girl next to him.

“Allison here is our Bachelorette, from season 23.  Allison will have 30 chances at love, but in the end, she’ll only be able to choose one bloke. Tonight, on our very first episode, we will welcome all 30 of the men, and the first rose will be given: the first impression rose.”

The girl beams and holds up the rose, which has been cut so it could be pinned to a jacket. She has long, auburn hair, with a few highlights and freckles over her cheeks. Her eyes are a bright green, and her mouth is covered in baby pink lipstick. She’s short, but her heels make her about Louis’ height. She’s wearing a bright red, floor-length dress, simple, but elegant. The Perfect Bachelorette.

“Okay, cut!” the director shouts from somewhere behind them. “That was great as always, Louis. The sun’s setting too quick for us, we’ll have to take a break. You have thirty minutes. Editors, I want you with me so we can have a look at the B-roll. I’m not sure if it’s the right angle.”

Louis turns and gives Allison a reassuring smile. She’d been his favourite on the previous season. Really laid back, but she had a classy air around her too. Plus, she had a good heart; it was in the right place.

“They’re nice blokes, you’ll see. I helped pick them. Of course, after tonight Mr. Director is going to talk to you, tell you which ones to keep for a while; the controversial ones,” Louis rolls his eyes, “but other than that, have fun.”

“Thanks…I’m just so nervous, you know,” her Southern accent was strongly contrasted with his bright British one.

“Yes. But that’s okay. It’s just jitters.”  Louis patted her on the shoulder, knowing it was the best to not get involved with contestants. Unethical, unprofessional, very, very, well, un.
