Glitchy Choices: A My Hero Fanfiction

Chapter 1

You wake up to the moving subway and your head on someone's shoulder, music is blasting in your ears. You look tiredly to the side to see your best friend, Denki Kaminari, softly bobbing his head to the music and scrolling on his phone. "Denki?"

Your blonde friend looks down at you and gives you a grinning simile. "Oh, yay you are up!"

"How long have I been asleep? All I remember is sitting down in here."

Denki lets out a little chuckle and shifts his arm over your shoulders; leaning a bit into you. "Yeah once we sat down and I handed you the other earphone, you passed out in like an instant. Turns out those entrance exams wore you out."

You and Denki just came back from the UA entry exams, the top hero school in the world. You dreamed of going there and becoming a pro-hero for as long as you can remember. You pushed Denki when it came to studying and training for the entry exams for months. If you guys make it in, then you would be the only two from your school to make it into UA High.

" Yeah they were brutal, I hope I got as many robots as needed to get in."

"I am sure you did great! You were killing it out there, I am sure you will get in!"

You set your head into Denki's shoulder and neck and smiled. "Thanks, Denki, I am sure you made it too, you were pretty epic out there." Denki squeezed you tighter to him and let out a sigh. You enjoy these types of moments with your best friend. Ever since you met him you have had the biggest crush on him. But you never knew if he felt the same way about you since he was a huge flirt. So if he ever had feelings for anyone, you could never tell if it was serious or not. He is just that free-spirited. So whenever you guys get close like this, you like to let yourself imagine that just maybe, he feels the same way.

You were just about to drift off again when you feel the train come to a stop. "This is our stop y/n." You then feel Denki lift you bridal style and carry you out the subway, letting you wake up just a little bit, enough to be able to walk. He set you back down and you two walked to your house where Denki dropped you off. You went to hug Denki goodbye, but you noticed he wanted to say something, but it was already so late. You wanted him to get enough rest, so you said your goodbyes and went inside.

Once you closed the door you could smell the food from the kitchen, you ran in and saw your older brother cutting up some carrots. A pot was on the stove with noodles inside and the sauce was on a pan next to it. Your brother looked up and smiled at you. "Kaminari didn't come inside? How were the exams?" You gave your brother a side hug and stole a carrot.

"It was late." You shrugged, "What are you making?"

"Whatever we have surprise." Your brother answered, giving you a look. "Akio, you know my favorites." You say sarcastically, letting out a small laugh as you head to your room. "MAKE SURE YOU SHOWER, YOU SMELL LIKE RUBLE!" Your brother yelled. You yelled that you know back at him and went to shower. It's just you and your brother, always has been. At first, it was a lot of foster care, your parents not being home a lot caused you both to get taken away from their custody. When your brother finally got out of the system at 18, he found a way to become your legal guardian. He's always taken care of you, now he is 20 and you are 14. You both have everything you need.

You have to admit, even though you are the only one with a quirk between you two, he was like a hero to you. You couldn't count how many times he had been your rock in life, he was undeniably your hero. He never needed a quirk to be one, and you try to show him that every day in any way you can. When you finish with your shower and getting dressed, you went and cleaned where you walked. Making sure there was no dust anywhere and helped your brother finish dinner. By the time you were going to bed, it was 2 in the morning, and as you checked your phone you saw there were about 5 text messages from Denki. All silly pictures of him after he got home, one of him playing video games while looking like he was hit by a truck. Giggling you sent a good night text to him, thinking he was asleep. Turns out you didn't check the timestamps, and he messaged right back.

"Sweet dreams then Y/N. I love you my best friend : )"

I love you? He has never said that before. You feel your cheeks get hot and a smile creep up on your face. " I love you too my best friend :3" Looking up at the ceiling, for a moment you believe the Denki Kamanari, your flirty best friend, felt the same way about you that you do him. You fell asleep that night feeling like you were on cloud nine. You surely did have the sweetest dreams that night.
