cancer sticks

Zhao was far too pissed at the old man for being so authority-oriented. He looked all over his locker room for cigarettes yet couldn't find any. He was fighting the addiction yet at that moment his hands were shaking for them. He looked in Ye Huo's locker and sure enough found some.

He sighed, changing from his blouse that was far too cheerful for his attitude at the moment.

The silky dark red got on his nerves so he changed into a normal black shirt that got his muscles on display intending to visit Shen Wei right after.

It was getting dark and the press was still waiting. He had to get his father to tell them what happened as the head of the hospital. If Ye Huo would make the statement, along with Cat Lady who is a friend of the hospital, it would only cost them their futures and for what? For the government to sweep everything under the carpet because of Mr. Kim's connections?

Zhao used the backside of the hospital as he lit the cancer stick. He for some reason got flashbacks of Shen Wei's arrival. The air in the night had the same atmosphere as then. He fought with his father that night and Shen Wei, as selfish as it sounds, was the savior of the night and the future events.

Zhao was thinking of quitting that night. He thought of running away from the responsibilities and all the VIPs that surrounded him. Many rules in the hospital didn't appeal to him. He didn't see the purpose of him helping the rich and not being to help the poor. He even considered working as a war medical personnel. He wanted everyone to have the same status.

His cigarette slightly burned his finger as it was already unsmokeable. He took another one out when he received a phone call from Shen Wei.

"Chief Zhao?" came his voice.

"How many times do I have to tell you to call me Yunlan." he sighed.

"I got fired, Yunlan. Is the press still there? "

Shen Wei was yet again his savior.

He tried to convince Shen Wei to talk to the press earlier, yet the male didn't want to risk it because he had some of his clients illegally and knew that no one could help them as he could.

Zhao observed Shen Wei talking to the press, he was being photographed as he sat in the wheelchair. He talked about his accident with Mr. Kim's wife and how she was his client. He talked about her missing and then came Ye Huo's turn.

They told the story that would interest many around Mr. Kim. After all, he wasn't just some unknown figure. It was then Zhu Hong's turn, then came Cat Lady's turn, along with pictures of her lying unconscious. It took a lot of convincing from everyone that she looked good and that no one thought that these pictures were "hot"- or at least as hot as someone can be, lying unconscious.

The only person he could think of that was hot, lying unconscious, was Shen Wei.

Zhao was on his way to get Shen Wei back to his room when he saw the gaze of his father, far up from his office. He knew he could lose his job after such a bold move, along with his colleagues, yet he was glad that this happened. His father didn't talk to the press for one reason and he knew why. In case they were getting fired, his father would make sure that some kind of fairness would be provided to them from a neutral side.

After they came into the room, Zhao helped Shen Wei on the bed, surprised that Shen Wei was moving around much more than before. After all, almost a month has passed since his admittance. The lawyer smiled at Zhao's expression.

He inhaled with his nose a few times, getting closer to the Chief Doctor.

"You smoke?" he asked, tilting his head.

"Bad day.", Zhao smiled, for some reason surprised at the question. He smelled at his shirt, it didn't seem to smell like smoke.

"The hair", Shen Wei gestured, took Zhao's hand and sniffed at it, "and the hands."

Zhao smiled at that, liking the interest that was shown. Not many did.

The lawyer saw Zhao away in his thoughts so he commented. "Sang Zan used to try to hide it from me because he thought I'd lecture him for it. He would then spray women's spray deodorant everywhere, thinking that the smell is stronger."

"I told him that in high school." Zhao laughed.

Shen Wei smiled at that.

"I think your press idea might have saved me my job." Shen Wei smiled as he closed his computer. There were hundreds of comments on the press' Instagram talking about the Kim bastard. They shoot their shot. Now it was the asshole's turn and they had to prepare themselves.

Zhao grinned at his own plan. Shen Wei really thought that he saved him? Oh, it was about the opposite. How fast the night can change...

"Don't you think I deserve a reward?" Zhao raised a brow.

"Do you like chocolate? My friend has-"

"How about a kiss?"

Shen Wei was yet again silenced. He was a lawyer. It wasn't possible. Yet for some reason, the doctor found way too many ways to do the impossible.

"I-"

"Is that a yes or a no?" Yunlan came closer as Shen Wei's breath fanned his face. The male smelled nice, his personal smell strong too. The shirt he wore just so happened to underline every single muscle he had. Usually, he had baggy stuff on-

He stayed quiet so Zhao grinned, leaning in" I'll take that as a yes."

Shen Wei stopped breathing.

He closed his eyes and grabbed the sheets.

Zhao saw it slightly out of his side view, chuckling as their lips connected. He closed his eyes, enjoying the instance, one of his hands at the male's cheek, cupping it. Shen Wei reveled at the touch of Zhao's lips. The doctor wasn't like anything like the people he dated, Normally he would initiate something, but now?

Zhao's lips were soft and his smell intoxicating. The mixture of his perfume and the after smoke just did something to Shen Wei's stomach. Who knew... maybe the wound reopened again?

When the doctor pulled away, he only wanted more. He wanted to know everything about Zhao. He wanted to entrust this person with everything that was going on. And for some reason, he thought that if his memory would come back, Zhao would be the first person he would tell.

The doctor leaned back, watching Shen Wei. Oops. He broke a rule.

"I never got your answer." he teased the lawyer.

"My answer?" Shen Wei seemed to be somewhere else.

"Who do you like more? Me or the nurses?" he grinned.

"The nurses have potential after all-"

Zhao rolled his eyes before carrying on with his night shift. His mouth for some reason grinning even when he saw patients covered in their own blood. Some might have thought he's a psychopath had it not been for his mask.
