The wind whipped around Tenshouin Eichi's hair, nose red with cold and ice-cold fingers gripping the metal railing of Yumenosaki's rooftop. Down below, students were bustling and lively as fellow idols sang on their stage, each song perfectly unique to their unit, the music drifting into the air as bright colours shone from lightsticks and stagelights. But Eichi wasnt watching the events taking place down below. His eyes were fixated on the man standing at his side.

Wataru Hibiki smiled absently at the view past the railing. Long, silky hair flowed gently around his waist, like a sheet of velvet wrapping around his Fine uniform. His eyes glowed as soft colors danced around his face, shining up from above. Wataru looked almost fake; like a painting or a doll. To Eichi, Wataru seemed a million miles away. He had always idolised Wataru. Watching him from afar, completely out of reach, yet completely entranced. Eichi could never even begin to scratch the surface of understanding the man that was before him. But what Eichi did know, was that Wataru was simply incredible. To Eichi, he was the most beautiful person in the world.

Eichi didnt realise how long he had been staring until Wataru glanced back at him. "Have i something on my face, dear Eichi?" he inquired. Eichi felt his face go red. He fumbled over words in his head, unsure of how to excuse his behaviour. "I.. no..- Wata- you- i j-""Ahahaha! Oh, dear Eichi, i havent seen you so flushed in my life! Has your immune system finally started working? are you finally receiving sufficient circulation to your face? Amazing!" Wataru beamed. "No im still on the brink of death, as ive always been." Eichi monotonously added.

"Ah, you're not too fond of my jokes? have i offended you, dear Emperor?" "No no, my apologies. Im not particularly an expert in the field of sarcasm." Eichi conceded. "We'll make a jester of you yet Tenshouin!" Wataru exclaimed.

Eichi gazed down to the show beneath them. His eyes scanned the crowds and performers as he pondered. He saw faces of his aquaintances, his old friends, and worst enemies. He saw his remaining unitmates from Fine, Yuzuru and Tori. A warmth rose in his heart. He looked back at Wataru. He was standing with the person he loved most, watching over his friends, having a normal conversation. No hospital beds, no student council work, no family conglomerate buisness, no war. No worries whatsoever. Eichi chuckled. A hearty, genuine laugh.

"Eichi?"
"Im sorry.. heh.. im just.. happy. Is this... Is this ok? is it ok for me to feel this way?"
"There is no shame in happiness my friend. Pardon my saying so but... seeing you like this... with a true smile... it makes my heart leap. You are always so content to hide your true emotions, even in a time of crisis. You are so critical of yourself, working yourself to the bone for the sake of others. You bury yourself deep down, focusing only on your work and acknowledging only your faults. It truly pains me. Which is why seeing your real smile, your true laughter... it fills my heart with joy in return. We are all so grateful for you, truly. Please never take yourself for granted. I will always stand at your side no matter the weather, till death do us part Eichi." Wataru pauses. "Oh! i accidentally made it sound like a marriage proposal... how unbecoming of me..."

Eichi feels his heart swell. His face is burning, and so is Wataru's. He extends a hand toward the man, brushing the hair from his face. Wataru turns his gaze to the night sky once more.

"The moon is beautiful, isnt it Eichi?" Wataru whispers with a soft smile, turning back to face him now. Eichi cups Wataru's face in his palm. His skin is like ice. They lock eyes. A moment passes that feels like eternity.

They share the most tender of kisses. It lasts only a few seconds, but to Eichi it lasted a lifetime. They pull away slowly. Eichi never takes his hand from Wataru's face, rubbing his thumb gently againts the man's cheekbone. He looks out across the sky, to the crescent moon millions of miles away.

"Yeah, it is isnt it?"
