"I'm so tired and hungry..."

"We barely have left the ship, and you're already tired?"

"It is 9 in the morning, so yes."

"Oh boy."

Chuckling softly, you interlocked your arm around Jet's. The smell of the morning air filled your nostrils, welcoming a brand new day with the love of your life by your side. The agenda today for Jet was groceries and cleaning, which should take all day. Knowing it was going to be a boring affair for one person, you invited yourself in for company.

"You have the list?" You asked, adjusting your purse strap.

"Of course, I have it right-" Jet reached into his pocket, fumbling around. Annoyance covered his face, sighing. "It's back on the ship, on the table."

"That's okay, sweets, we can just wing it." You replied, giving his arm a soft pat.

Jet huffed. "Alright, but i can't remember what we even need."

"We'll just walk in the store and it'll probably come back to you. That's what I do, anyways." You stated.

"But a formed plan guarantees a quick trip with no obstacles." Jet said.

"Oh please, don't pull that on me. It's the grocery store, not a sting operation." You scoffed.

Bright orange and yellow rays bounced off the windows of the shops waking up to welcome morning customers. Like a wave, people bustled into the streets, jogging to work or leisurely strolling on the sidewalk. A whiff of coffee and pastries caught Jet's attention, luring him to the source. He glanced at you, an exhausted and dull mask hung on your face.

"You know, we shouldn't go to the grocery store on an empty stomach. We'll buy with our eyes if we do. How bout some coffee before we go?" Jet asked.

Your face lit up. "Yes, please. I will Iove you even more if we do."

"You already love me too much." Jet smiled.

You sat down as the barista came and brought your goodies. Sharing a cinnamon roll and a breakfast sandwich, you and Jet were trying to piece together what was on the forgotten list. But your breakfast treats were too good, you had a really hard time focusing on the words coming out of Jet's mouth.

"(Y/n)...(y/n), are you listening to me?" Jet asked impatiently.

"Hmm? Oh wah!" You replied, your mouth full.

"Okay, then what did I just say?" Jet asked, crossing his arms.

You swallowed quickly, covering your mouth. "You said that, uh, that we needed eggs, and milk, something about soap, and umm.."

Your cheeks were red with embarrassment, but the confidence to continue your filibuster was outstanding. All annoyance drained out of Jet. Your desperate attempt to cover your ass was too amusing. There was no way he could be upset at you when you looked this adorable.

Chuckling, he patted your hand. "Alright, you can stop."

You breathed a sigh of relief. "God, that went on longer than I could handle."

The atmosphere was full of love and laughter. You both had completely put the list debacle on the side, instead reminiscing of past memories and enjoying each other's company. An outing with Jet was not uncommon for you, but a small date was a treat. You and Jet were always in work mode, stopping fights between Spike and Faye, cleaning and cooking, and like today, running errands.

He didn't want to think of errands, of groceries or chores. He wanted to spend a lovely day out with you, with no worries or responsibilities.

Jet loved you with every ounce of his being. In tough times, where everything felt too difficult to handle, you were there for him. You were his rock, his voice of reason. No matter what he did, whether it be a mistake or a victory, you cheered him on. His heart swelled at the thought of you, and how far you both had come. Even after all this time, he still got butterflies in his stomach. This was true love.
