Preface
I slammed my key into the door of my apartment hastily, getting frustrated at how long it was taking to open my damn door. Finally, I heard the click signifying that the door was unlocked and I walked inside the messy front room, slamming my wallet and keys down on the dining table.
Man, I'd had a horrible day. I had a headache all day and all we did was sing the same songs over and over and over again. I know that I sound like a snobby pop star.. it's just that we'd already released the album so I don't know why six hours straight of practicing every song a million times was necessary.
I'm gonna go to bed, I thought. I was on my way upstairs when I heard a noise. What sounded like a girlie scream sounded from the bottom of the stairs. I spun around, only to find a girl, probably fourteen or fifteen. Maybe sixteen standing there. Oh no.
'How did you get in here?' I asked her, my voice an obvious give away that I was annoyed.
Don't get me wrong: I love the fans. Just, coming home to one being in your apartment isn't the best thing ever.
'Daniel... how are you still alive?' she asked me, looking actually scared of me.
What the hell was she on about?
'Um, my name isn't Daniel. Sorry' I said, a little bewildered.
'Daniel. It's me; Anna. What are you doing here?' She still acted as if I were someone else.
Maybe this was a set up.
'Look, 'Anna'. My name isn't 'Daniel'. My name is Niall. Niall Horan. And I live here.' I said, hoping she'd get fed up and leave.
'No, no, no. You look so much like him. This isn't possible. Daniel died a long time ago. He never would've had kids... You'd have to be in his family line to look so similar.. What did you say your last name was again?' she questioned, still making NO sense.
'Horan' I told her hesitantly.
'Horan' she repeated, trying it out on her tongue.
'No. That can't be right. Daniel died in the fire. Like me. He wasn't one of us. There is no way.' She mumbled to herself, an then she locked her gaze with min, studying me closely.
I tried to pry my gaze away from her big green eyes but I just couldn't. It's like she had me under a spell. Suddenly, she started slowly moving towards me and I found myself not being able to move away, it was like I was glued to the spot. She was then right in front of me, so close that I could feel her breath on my face.
She then reached up, her hands gliding slowly and softly over my face; as if checking that I was real. She moves some hair out of my eyes and then stares into them. Her lips came slowly closer to mine and I swore she was gonna kiss me, but she didn't really. She just pecked the spot between my cheek and my lips quickly, and then pulled away.
'Oh, if you were Daniel..' She said, holding back a few tears that gathered in her eyes.
'Look, I'm sorry I'm not who you're looking for. But nobody called 'Daniel' lives around here... you should go' I said, feeling guilty the minute I saw her face.
'I knew it was impossible that he was still here. He died in the fire like the rest of them. Thankyou though, Mr Horan. You've been of great service to me' She said, flashing a small smile.
'Erm, any time..' I said hesitantly.
I then turned back around and headed upstairs to my room. I fell asleep as soon a I got into bed. It must've been a dream...
