Chapter 1

This was the moment. After all the dragon slaying and warlock killing, I have reached the treasure. The most wanted treasure to man kind. I could see myself holding on to it and dancing in excitement. Only an arms reach away. I leaned forward to capture the treasure into my hands and feel the smooth texture of it. It was right there. The New York Super Fudge Funk bucket of Ben & Jerrys ice cream shined bright under the light. I felt the coolness of the bucket against my fingers as I slowly pried open the lid. The chocolate ice cream and fudge was there in all its glory. Whipping the spoon out of my back pocket, I slowly took a scoop of the ice cream and began to place it into my—“INDIE! INDIE! INDIE!”

Suddenly I felt the light seep through my eyes and the bucket of ice cream disappear. Opening my eyes, the sight in front of me was not a cave filled with skeletons of past pirates. It was worst. It was the dull light blue walls that used to have millions of pictures thumb-tacked to them, the walls that used to have pink bunnies all over them and paint splattered over it from all the paint balloon fights I had with my father.

“Indie!”And that yell was the alarm for me to abandon my love AKA pillow, and step into the white tiled room of doom AKA the bathroom.

After the shower, I began running down the stairs and began going through my personal shoe rack filled with converse. From the original to all the limited editions you can name. I grabbed the Dr. Seuss ones and booked it to the car before Ash. The passenger seat meant everything.

“HEY! I CALLED IT ALREADY!”Ignoring the yell from inside the kitchen, I ran to the seat and buckled myself in. 8:30 AM was the time and I thought we were running late. I began honking continuously and finally after 10 minutes did the three musketeers AKA my mom and two brothers come out with their swords ready to fight the battle. Wouldn't that be a sight? They waltzed to the car and one of them glared at me for taking his seat.

“India. India Chérie Amor! What is going on in that head of yours, honking so early in the morning? And why did you take your brothers seat?”Ignoring the every day comment I got from dearest mother, I continued staring out the window and ignored the bickering of my brothers in the back seat.

“Mom, it’s fine. It is just another everyday thing.”I ignored that comment as well because it was just another façade.

As we were heading out of our driveway, I noticed a moving truck parked in the driveway of the house in the corner of the street. The house that was always empty and had no  owner was being filled with people. Poor little house.

“MOM! NEW NEIGHBORS! NEW NEIGHBORS!”As if we were never going to school, my mom stopped the car and headed out to meet the new neighbors. And in trail went the little duckling Trey leaving Ashton and I in the car alone.

          Fan-Bloody-Tastic.

“You know you are selfish. All you can do is backstab all those people. Just the way you backstabbed Nick and broke up with him for no reason. You just love hurting all the people around you.”This was nothing new. It was the same things repeated after I broke up with his best friend Nick. He just doesn't know the truth behind all this. To him I’m the bitch that broke it off with his best friend.

“Reply. Stop ignoring me. Why don't you start talking to people, and stop being a worthless bitch?”The familiar feeling of my throat constricting and chest tightening began to appear. I knew the process of this. Throat constricts, chest tightens and tears build up. Before the tears could fall out, a persistent knocking began on the window of the passenger side of the car. There in clear view stood Trey looking at me with a wide smile and wide eyes.
