"Marley , I'm sorry. I can't help you."After last nights events, Marley was shook to say the least. Not only had Isaac been taken into custody under suspicion of his fathers murder, he was now missing and classed as a fugitive. Marley wasn't exactly upset that Isaac father died; the son of a bitch had it coming. But she didn't know how Isaac felt. He didn't kill his father, she knew that. She never had a doubt. Isaac would never hurt a fly.
Marley stood at the front desk at the sheriff station, practically begging for some closure. Sheriff Stilinski was kindly turning her down and explaining the situation.
"You don't have any idea where he could be?" Marley asked desperately. She just wanted to know that her best friend was safe. "Please Sheriff, he hasn't got anyone out there."
"I'm sorry Marley, I really am. You'll be the first person we call when we find something, okay?" Stilinski empathised, giving Marley hopeful smile.
"Thank you," Marley said, letting out a shaky breath.
"Hey dad," Stiles said coming out from his dads office. "Oh, hey Marley?"
"You two better get to school or else you're gonna be late," Sheriff Stilinski said, looking down at his watch. "Stiles, drive yourself and Marley."
"That's okay, you don't have to," Marley said quickly. Being a burden was the last thing she wanted to be, since she could see the sheriff was already under pressure.
"Nah, it's no worries."
...
"You okay?" Stiles asked from the drivers seat. Marley mumbled a response, clearly not satisfying her lab partner.
"You're worried about Isaac aren't you?"
'What gave it away' she thought, sitting us straight. "Yeah."
"Don't worry too much. I'm sure he's safe. Maybe he's staying with someone," Stiles said. If Scott was there, he would be telling stiles to stop talking because he was hinting at a few things. But it's not like Marley knew. Stiles could at least try to make her feel better.
"That's the thing, he hasn't got anyone."
...
"Marley!"
The strawberry blonde known as Lydia Martin strutted up to Marley's locker. In the past week, two people who didn't usually talk to Marley had willingly started a conversation with her. It was a little concerning.
"Hey, Lydia...?"
"So, later Scott, Allison, Stiles and I are going ice skating. But I think you should come too. We all seem to get along, plus I don't wanna be alone with Stiles," Lydia said, leaning against Marley's locker.
It was no secret that Stiles was in love with Lydia, and that Lydia couldn't give a care in the world for him. Although it would be funny to watch stiles get turned down multiple times, Marley reminded herself that she would only be fifth wheeling. Not to mention she barely knew these people.
"I would love to," she lied. "But I have to go to my brother's Lacrosse game."
"Are you sure? I mean, you're pretty lonely now that you're boyfriend is basically a murderer," Lydia recoiled.
"He's not a murderer, nor my boyfriend. Why do people keep saying that?" Marley grunted.
"You're not? Oh. Well you should be," Lydia frowned. She stood up from the locker. "Well I'll be in the library 4th period if you wanna join me to study."
