Ginny spent most of her last day of break either packing or cleaning something. Grimmauld Place was still filthy, and Sirius seemed sad that Harry was leaving, and she knew that Harry had noticed and felt bad about it. She was still waiting to hear from Cora.
"Oh I don't know what you've been told, but this gal right here is gonna rule the world. Yeah, that's where-'
Ginny picked up her singing phone and saw Cora was calling. Speak of the devil.
She nor Rose had had any communication with Lexi since Ginny had left, and she was beginning to wonder if everything was all right. This would be her chance to ask Cora how she was doing.
"Ginny!!! How are you? How is your dad? Has HP said he liked you? I heard about your day with Michael, how was it? " Cora showered Ginny with questions the second she answered.
"One at a time Cors."* Ginny said laughing.
"Okay, how's your dad?" Cora asked smiling.
"He's fine. He will be able to remove his bandages for good soon, and he is pretty excited for that. He tried this Muggle remedy, stitches I think it was called. Anyway, they obviously didn't work, and Mum gave him a talking to." Ginny shook her head. Her father loved Muggles a bit too much.
"Stiches?! On a magical wound caused by a big lump of a snake? They probably dissolved or something. They work best on Muggle wounds. Like when I fell off my bike and needed 6 stiches. Or when I was peeling apples for a pie and cut my finger deep enough for 3 stiches." Cora winced at the memory.
"You are so clumsy!" Ginny exclaimed playfully.
"Oh shut up!" Cora mock-glared at her.
"Jeez. What did I do to you?" Ginny asked.
"You left without saying goodbye! And I thought I was you friend." Cora dramatically put her hand on heart.
"You were sleeping like the dead. And I had to leave really quickly." Ginny defended herself.
"Fine Ginbug. You win." Cora blew her a kiss.
"Moving on to serious topics, how's Lex?" Ginny asked rolling her eyes.
"Huh? I was going to ask you that. How would I know?" Cora asked.
"She stayed with you for the beginning of break," pointed out Ginny.
"No..." Cora looked a little panicked now.
"B-but, Rose, she told me you told her in an owl that she was staying with you." Ginny stammered.
"Ginny. I haven't written to anyone. I was worried since my parents are Muggles and don't have magic, the wouldn't be able to defend themselves. And anyway a Death Eaters might intercept it."
"But what happened to Lexi? Have you seen her at all?" Ginny asked.
"I haven't seen her since...hmmm...when we got off the train." Cora answered.
"If we haven't heard from her, then where is she?" Ginny was beginning to panic.
"Maybe Lau's seen her. Add her to the call." Cora suggested.
"On it." Ginny was already tapping away furiously.
A second later, Rose's smiling face appeared on the screen and Ginny almost grinned but then thought about Lexi.
"What's up? Hey, add Lex to the call." Rose said stretching on her bed.
"That's what we called you for." Cora said.
"Huh?" Rose asked confused.
"Rose. Remember when you said Lex was staying with Cora?"
Rose nodded."That was a lie." Ginny bit her lip.
"I have not seen her since we left the train. That letter was a fake or something." Cora squeezed her eyes shut.
Rose blinked.
"Are you sure? Maybe..." She trailed off."Yeah. I still don't... Oh I just had the worst thought! Do you think..." Ginny stopped.
"Someone took Lexi and probably sent Rose that fake letter?" Cora continued horrified.
"Tell me I'm being stupid." Ginny rubbed her eyes.
"I can't. Because I thought the same thing."
The three girls looked at each other, not knowing what to do.
Not too far away, an attractive 14 year old girl was struggling to free her hands from ropes.
"You'll never get away with this." She spat to the man who entered th room.
"I think I already have Alexandria." The man said coldly.
She glared at him, not knowing her friends were worried sick about her. Not knowing her parents didn't know. And not caring. All shr knew was that she wanted to hurt this man badly.
"Don't look at me like that!" The man raised his wand.
"Crucio." He declared pointing it at her.
"Aaah! Stop! Aaaaahhhhh!" The girl called Alexandria screamed in agony, thrashing and trying to block the spell with her hands, but to no avail.
Back to the girls who were still staring at each other. They didn't know their friend was screaming mercilessly in so much pain. All they could do was worry. Ginny stood up still carrying the phone and ran into Harry outisde, who looked traumatized.
*(Not a mistake, her nickname)
I haven't done a cliffhanger in soooo long! Hope you enjoyed and until next time! Love you and thank you!
