Laura's Misfortunes

15-The Ugly Duckling!

Laura had been known as a lover of attention and so this was her perfect opportunity to show everyone her talent at the school play! Laura wanted to play the main part in the ugly duckling which is the duckling BUT UNFORTUNATELY, SOMEBODY NAMED MEGAN GOT THE PART INSTEAD

Laura was mad to no limits and her petty personality might have gotton the best of her...
"UNO!" "...dang..." "Nah. You better draw four, I know you keep cheating" "that's not true" "look, look, uno reverse!" "..." "..." "...You stupid!" "No, you just salty" "You cheated" "no, I didn't" "Lies!" "HOW AM I LYING WHEN I LITTERALLY JUS-" "CAN YOU ALL JUST PLEASE BE QUIET!" A sudden scream took everybody by surprise.

They turned around to meet eyes with a very angry Laura. "...and what's up with you?" "...MEGAN GOT THE PART I WANTED IN THE PLAY AND NOW I'M A TREE!" "...oh..." "tough" "exactly. That's why you guys will help me sabotage it!" They all blinked looking at her like she was crazy. "...why?" "Because! Aren't we friends?" "Y-yea but-" "BUT?!" "...so what do you want us to do?" Marcus studdered as she smiled "Stand behind stage with me when it's not my scene..." They nodded unsure of what else they could do to get out of this situation.

Laura sat in class as they took attendance and she noticed that none of her friends were here today which was the play! She started to feel betrayed realizing they didn't want to be there for the plan. She sighed leaning back in her chair.

"Alright! Your make up is all done for the play" Ocean said adding the final touches before wishing Laura luck and leaving to watch in the audience.

Laura looked in the mirror with a smile before turning around ready to go backstage. Absentmindedly, she rubbed her eyes and scratched her cheeks and forehead because they were itchy. She also licked the lip gloss off out of habit. The taste of the lip gloss made her realize what she did and she started freaking out also seeing her newly painted nails all messed up too.

She sighed getting her costume on.
"Alright, Laura your scene is next! Just stand in the background of the duck, Megan. OKAY??" the person managing the play wispered and Laura nodded getting ready to go on the stage.

Finally, she went out and stood stiff however, when that fly came...
"That tree is moving..." "their swatting the air..." "clapping their hands..." "hey, what's up with that tree?"

Laura started to run around the stage trying to squash and kill the fly before she finally succeeded in doing so. She now stood in place again.

"Such an ugly duck" "must get scared when he looks in the mirror!" "Ugly, ugly duck" "Not beautiful at all!" "That's a duck? I though that was a-" "Ya'll are so rude!!!" Laura started pushing the other ducks off the stage. "Stupid ducks. So very mean! Leave that duck alone!"
"You guys are the true ugly ones" Laura screamed pushing all the people off the stage but Megan. After she was done with that, she stood in place again in the background waiting for the play to resume but it didn't.

"Megan, did you forget your line?"
