I woke up in a bomb shelter, I tried to recall things about myself but they weren't there. I looked around to take in my surroundings, I found a small supply of food, next to a large container of water. I was dying of thirst, so I cupped my hands and brought the sweet water to my dry lips. I then continued scrounging through the food to find some dried bananas, I tore open the package and ate the entire bag, looking around the room as I did, trying to find an exit. In a small room hidden away, I found a metal ladder leading to a circular door in the ceiling. I turned the lever ever so gently, and it popped open.

I poked my head out of the hole, and looked at the world around me. It was barren, complete carnage all around me massive trees brought to the ground. I looked at what was once tall white house that I had a feeling was mine. I walked over and scanned through the rubble, many things were burned, or were still on fire. I found a calendar it noted that the year was 3029 I looked through the rubble of other houses finding body after body, I had no clue who these people were. It appeared as if they were dead for at least 2 days. I spent about an hour finding bodies and laying them in lines. I left them there, and started walking down the road, I found a relatively unharmed car and hotwired the car, the engine roared to life.

I kept driving down the road until I arrived in New York City, according to the sign. I turned off the car and started walking around seeing no one, I walked to the nearest building still standing. There was a receptionist sitting at the counter, but she was dead. I closed her eyelids and kept moving. I looked out a large window and saw a news cast dated for 12/29/3028 on a large screen hung in Times Square. I walked back to the receptionist and checked her for a phone. I found it hidden in the coat sitting next to her on the floor. I turned it on and looked at the date. It read 1/1/3029 I watched the news cast, knowing that I was the only one left, and I couldn't find out why.
