(Author's note: This map is not to scale. As you can see, the gates could hit the Thomas Hall if they swung all the way open in the image. That is not the case in real life. The high school dragon dorms are almost touching the William Mulberry Hall. That is also not the case. Assume everything in the map is a rough estimate more than a to-scale model) I will continue to post this map when I feel it necessary.
Wolfmount School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is not one building like Ilvermorny or Hogwarts. Instead, it's several buildings on a single campus, each building separated by sidewalks, lawn, and trees. The first building you see as you enter through the enchanted iron gates is the Thomas Mulberry Hall of Administration. It is a regal building made of red brick and light tan stone. As a matter of fact, every single building was made of red brick and light tan stone, no matter how old or new it was to the campus.
On the other left side of Thomas Hall and set back a bit is the Matthew Mulberry Hall of Professional Expertise. On the right side of Thomas Hall and also set back a bit is the William Mulberry Hall of Children and Family Life.
William Mulberry Hall, according to Victoria's parents, is where children ages 4-10 can go if their parents cannot take care of them during the day because they work or where students go if they have trouble controlling their magic. According to her mom, it's the only elementary school and the only day school (meaning students go home at the end of the school day) in the world.
Matthew Mulberry Hall, according to her dad (who is a muggle-born) is equivalent to a college in the nomaj world. The majority of the campus and the majority of the students are 11-17, they comforted her.
"Oh and don't forget to find Alex! You remember Alex, right? He's the son of your father's friend- they did experiments together at Hogwarts. He's your grade and a Thunderbird at Wolfmount."
And so like the good daughter Victoria likes to think she is, she's now sitting between Zach and Alex with Ollie bouncing next to Zach talking his poor ear off about magical creatures. The four of them finally passed the iron gate, whose enchantments stretched like a rubber band then snapped back, allowing them to pass. The iron fence with red brick intervals only went a little ways past the large gate, yet the protective enchantments went the entire way around the campus. The four of them were sitting in a carriage pulling itself. It slows to a stop and they all get out.
In order to get to the school, you must find your own way to Fort Mill, a wizarding community to the northwest of Marquette, right outside town. From there, you are pulled by a carriage to the entrance of the school.
Victoria got to Fort Mill with her parents and Ollie early, so they could look around. There were several shops and all of it reminded her of Melimer Creek. She especially took note of: Compeau Creek Outfitters (a school uniform shop among other clothes), The Vanilla Kitchen (a casual restaurant), and Grandpa Howard's Gourmet Treats (Candy, pastries, and sweets of all kind). In fact, being a Wednesday, she would be sorted but classes wouldn't start until the next day (Thursday). She could stop by the stop over the weekend to grab robes for whatever house she's sorted into. So she gave all of her suitcases, the box with her TV, and her now precious Ambrosia to a wizard, who promised it would be in her dorm once she was sorted, and that her fwoop-kneazle-cat would be safe until they could be reunited (after much protest from Tori on being separated from her). It left her with only her wand and her magifone (as she found out from Zach they were called).
"Freshman! Freshman over here!" a middle-aged witch called as everyone exited their carriages. Ollie looked at his older sister, who smiled and nodded. Ollie smiled back and ran off to the witch calling for the first years. He disappeared with his classmates and suddenly Victoria felt very alone... even though she was surrounded by two handsome wizards (Alex and Zach).
She walked with the crowd alongside her two new friends into the Thomas Mulberry Hall of Administration. She thought they would stop in the building, but everyone continued on to the back door. Everyone then filed into an amphitheater. The amphitheater floor had a small table with a wand on it. The floor had five crests- the school crest and the crests of each of the four houses.
"Good morning everyone. For those of you who do not know, I am Vice President Cassandra Vitowski. As I call your name, please enter the center of the circle. Pick up the wand. This is Felicity Mulberry's wand, the founder of our school. The Mulberry Wand will guide you to stand on the crest of the house in which you belong in. The wand and the crest will glow when you have found your house. Once you have found your house, please exit the amphitheater. A professor outside will show you where to go. After I have called all of the freshman names, we have one transfer who will be sorted. Freshman, please take note of the following. The four houses are:
The House of the Phoenix, whose qualities are independence, and loyalty. Their colors are red and orange.
The House of the Thunderbird, whose qualities are ambition and fastidiousness. Their colors are white and gold
The House of the Dragon, whose qualities include protectiveness and tenaciousness. Their colors are green and black.
Lastly, the House of the Hippogriff, whose qualities are that of leadership and dignity. Their colors are blue and gray.
You may notice cameras placed around the amphitheater. This sorting is televised across Magic America.
As I call your name, please begin. Anderson, Lydia... Allen, Reese..."
Quickly, Victoria found that most of the students in their seats didn't care. They all chatted quickly to each other. So she struck a conversation with Zach and Alex until Ollie was called.
"Goldbloom, Oliver."
Poor Ollie was shivering with nervousness. He picked up the wand from the table. Soon, he stood on a glowing dragon. He most certainly was protective and tenacious... Capricious, tough, she could go on. She clapped and whistled, not caring if she embarrassed him or herself. She could see his blush from here as he exited the stage.
She continued talking to Zach and Alex until she noticed the names started to come to an end.
"Yates... Zimmerman..." Victoria didn't even hear the names as she started getting nervous. She said her farewells to her friends and got up from her seat. She slowly went down the steps to the bottom.
"Lastly, our transfer student, who came here from Hogwarts, where she was a Ravenclaw. Goldbloom, Victoria."
Slowly and unsteadily, she entered the side of the amphitheater. She picked up the warm wand. She felt the magical pull to a crest... She obeyed its pull. She stood in the middle of the four crests, where the school crest was. The pull stopped. The school crest glowed, as did the wand.
Not the Phoenix. Not the Thunderbird. Not the Dragon. Not the Hippogriff. The Wolfmount School Crest.
The amphitheater fell silent.
