"Abby, c'mon, you're the slowest person on the West Coast!" Sierra giggled, speeding up as they slid past a family on their pennyboards.

"Am not, I'm holding onto the volleyball, you bitch!" Abby laughed, hugging the pink ball tighter in her arms. She pushed off more, wobbling slightly. Abby launched off the sidewalk into the sand, jumping off her board, rolling into the hot white sand.

"TEN!" Sierra yelled, rolling beside her and they giggled and giggled until finally they got up. Abby took a bow, waving to her "adoring fans" and blowing kisses.

"Thank you, thank you all very much!" she laughed, grabbing the ball off the ground. "Now, let's play some volleyball!" She got to her side of the court and waited for Sierra. Once Sierra got in position, Abby threw up the ball and served it over the net. Sierra slid into the sand to return it, missing it by inches. Abby grabbed the ball to serve again. "Point one for me," she said smugly, bumping the ball lightly on her wrists. She waited for Sierra to brush off before she served again. As Abby went to hit it, a boy distracted her.

"Got room for two more?" a boy with bleached blonde hair with dark roots yelled, walking up to them.

"I guess, as long as you don't distract me again," Abby smirked, picking the ball back up after she tightened her slicked back ponytail.

"No, we promise we won't," the other one with the bandana in his hair said. "I'll go on her side," Abby swiveled on her heel towards her new partner.

"Listen here, buddy. We are going to win, hear me?" she jabbed him in the chest with her pointer finger.

"You got it, babe," he said smugly, stealing the ball from her arms and serving it perfectly over the net. "So why'd you think we were going to lose?"

"Not a problem, I guess," Abby said, focusing on the ball that came back over the net, digging Sierra's hit. "What's your name anyways?"

"Kian, Kian Lawley," he stuck out his hand politely, "pleasure to meet your acquaintance,"

"Hmmm, looks like the losers are buying...churos?" Sierra suggested, high-fiving JC with the hand that wasn't holding the winning ball. "Fine, fine, churos on me," Kian smiled, fishing his wallet from his swim trunks. "Well, if my spidey senses are right, the churos place is that-a-way!!" JC cheered, hoppng onto his pennyboard. "Last one there is a rotten egg!" Abby giggled, speeding past them.

"Four churros please, drizzled in chocolate and four limeades," Kian ordered for them, pushing a twenty onto the counter.

"Thank you, Kian Lawley," Abby kissed his cheek.

"You're very welcome, Abby...?" He paused and furrowed his brow, "I don't know your last name,"

"Yeah, I know, I like to be a little mysterious, you know.." she smiled up at him, winked, and sipped her limeade happily.
