Samual woke up and prepared to go to school like any other day. He grabbed his bag, which he had already packed the previous day, took some money for lunch, gave his mother a kiss on her cheek, and headed out. He didn't eat breakfast, but then again only the kids who lived almost next to school had time for that. They didn't need to catch the bus.

Once the bus arrived Sam took his seat at the very back, like usual. Nobody really liked the back, even though sitting at the back was everything when everyone was 10.

The bus ride was silent and uneventful. He was lucky the football team usually didn't take the bus, but ran to school. Those guys really had too much energy first thing in the morning, it even annoyed the cheerleaders.

Sam was the last to get off the bus as usual. He walked through the hall, dodging the flailing arms of people telling, or making up, stories from the weekend. He reached his locker unscathed, somehow. He barely had enough time to grab the correct books before he had to hurry off to his first class, which was mathematics. It didn't matter Sam was good at maths, it didn't mean it wasn't boring.

After the seemingly endless first half of the day, he dragged himself to the cafeteria. He easily darted to the front of the row, got himself a sandwich, and sat down at an empty table somewhere at the back. The P.A. system turned on, the principal's voice booming out of it, louder than it should.

"I'm glad to announce that the school is announcing four trips! Every student is allowed to choose one of the trips! The forum you have to fill out will be given to you at the end of the day! After that you'll have until Thursday to decide, because the trip is next week!" She announced.

This was a great chance to just get out of here for a bet, get something refreshing. It was very short-noticed, but Sam didn't mind. He just wanted to get away for a bit. It would be even better if none of his classmates went where he wanted to go. He decided to wait until he knew where most of the others were going. Determined, Sam finished his sandwich and darted off to class again.

It was the day that Sam had to put in his forum. From the information he had gathered, none of his classmates were going to River-springs. It was a beautiful place, but most students preferred the busy city over that. Sam, on the other hand, was enchanted by the picture of the lake. It just held such beauty, he almost felt bad for the people that didn't see that.

Meanwhile the person Sam disliked most, Quinten, had long decided where he wanted to go. He knew his classmates really well, therefor knowing they would all go to the city. That was the only reason he decided to go to River-springs. He just wanted to be free from his friends for a bit, that was all.

Quinten may be populair, but that didn't mean he wanted to be. His friends were too clingy and only stuck around because he attracted a lot of girls. He knew this, but couldn't be bothered to do anything about it. After all, what good would that do?

Quinten envied all the others that were just able to walk through the halls without being crowded by admirers or friends. Therefor, Samual had caught his eye. Samual was always alone, avoided everyone, and was never bothered by anyone because of that. Quinten sort of admired that. It became a habit to seek out Samual whenever he was outside of class, though he didn't know why. Why was he so interested in this boy? It wasn't like Samual was the only one that was able to go without friends. Above all, he was a boy.

Samual wasn't aware of the attention he'd been getting from the school's prince. Then again, it wasn't like he was hyperaware of those things in the first place. He rarely looked at his surroundings, actually.

Sam was just barely in time to turn in the forum. Now it was just waiting for everyone to get their official invite, which included the things they had to pack. His classmates were riled up that whole week and kept chatting throughout all the classes. It was a wonder they always had something to say.

It was Saturday when Sam's official invite arrived. It said that quite a bit of people chose that location, mostly because the first one they chose was already full. There was still a slight chance Sam would end up having a cabin to himself, but he didn't get his hopes up. Perks of being a pessimist: you're either right or pleasantly surprised.

Sam's mom helped him pack on Sunday, making sure he didn't forget anything. Sam had a tendency to forget stuff, even if he made a list. Most times it was because he forgot to even put it on the list in the first place.

He didn't get why a swimsuit was required, but took it with him anyways. He also packed some books, AirPods, his guitar(which he hid in his large bag), and some stuff to draw.

This was going to be an amazing week.
