"Young man, again, you don't have the Top ramen I love to have for dinner, and now, again, I have to buy the Wai Wai ramen which lacks in taste in my honest opinion." the gray, old lady whines for the nth time this month and Jimin has the cutest little smile on his face.
"We're sorry for the inconvenience, our Top suppliers don't have any ramen in stock now, so these are your options. Have you tried these, Knorr noodles?"
His mind on the other hand wasn't as nice: "Knorr noodles that I hope you'll eat raw and choke on the disgusting taste, cause once in your pathetic life you could eat some proper food than cook only instant ramen for dinner!"
"I don't like those. They don't taste spicy and are just too thick." the lady sighs deeply, like one of her family members just died in front of her eyes.
"Thick like your fat ass you whiny, sad, old lady..."
"Well, I'll just leave you to decide. You have plenty of options here, I'm sure you will find the best one for you." again, Jimin decides to show her the biggest smile, and be as polite as he always is, as he was raised to be.
"Jiminah, we have to do something about Jihyo's fake nails!" his co-worker bothers him again, with something he really doesn't wanna be smothered with this early in the morning.
"You didn't seem to be bothered with her fake nails the other day when she was scratching your back in the pantry, when I caught you having sex!"
"What about her fake nails?" he decides to ask politely rather than speak his mind.
"Well she takes forever to scan the items, and while opening the cash register she needs double the time that Sujin needs cause she needs to take care of her too long fake nails, and customers are getting annoyed about it every day. I don't mean to sound rude, but as one of the biggest super markets here, we can't have the cashier who looks more like a stripper than an actual worker here."
"Again, you didn't seem to mind her looking like the stripper and stripping her clothes down the other day..."
"I'll talk to her. Thank you for coming to me first." As polite as he is always, Jimin finishes yet another of his stupid daily talks, that he knew he would have. Working as a manager at one of the biggest malls in Seoul, he is used to it by now. Taking care of everything and anything here. If you need someone to get the new supplies, Jimin is your man, if you need someone to talk to the customers, Jimin is your man, if you need someone to talk to the workers, Jimin is again, the one to do it. He does everything for his boss, and what's more important, he does it with a smile on his face.
He was taught that way.
"Always be polite. Whatever you do in life, don't get people's rudeness to get the best of you. You should find your inner peace in every life's situations that you're trying to solve, only that way you could be the best at what you do, and be one appreciative human being to this society."
The words that were imprinted in his mind ever since his parents told him so, at young age, and he tries to live with that advice ever since then.
His subconscious had other plans.
With every word he would say out loud, his mind had another that was ringing loud in his head. He would say one thing, and think another, and that way he would channel his inner anger and unease feelings without bothering people around him.
Did it work well for him?
Nope.
Luckily for his sanity, he had his dance classes 4 times a week, and could easily relax and feel himself letting go of all the frustration he felt, and unhealthy accumulated stress he was living with every day.
