Percy POV

It is the summer solstice, meaning that there is a meeting of the council. These meetings are the most boring thing that I have ever experienced. All that goes on is Zeus and Hera arguing over Zeus being unfaithful, again; Ares and Hephaestus fighting over who should be loving Aphrodite; and Athena and my father, Poseidon, making out. You see, many things have happened in the last century. Poseidon left his original wife, Amphitrite, when she tried to make me fade because she wanted their son, Triton, to take over my position as a god because “he was more deserving” or something. When my father left Amphitrite, Athena decided that it was finally time to reveal her true feelings for him. A couple hundred years later, Athena and Poseidon got married.

“CAN EVERYONE JUST SHUT UP AND GET TO THE REAL REASON THAT WE ARE HERE?” I yelled over the commotion, making everyone actually shut up for once.

“Ah yes, that might be a good idea…” Zeus trailed off, while giving my father a knowing look.

“Well, Perseus,” my father started, “you see the reason that we are here is because of…umm…Zeus? Care take over here?”

“Fine! Perseus it has come to our attention that you need to have a wife who shares a similar domain as you.”

“So what exactly are you saying?” I am seriously confused. The only goddess that shares a domain with me is Artemis, and she is a maiden goddess.

“Perseus, you and Artemis are to be married in a decade.” Zeus concluded, rubbing his head, as if I was annoying him.

“Artemis’s hunters must accept the situation, because it is deemed by the Olympian Council. From now on, Perseus, you are to travel with Artemis and her hunt, and Artemis, my daughter, you are released from your vow as a maiden.”

I was too shocked to say anything as the rest of the council, besides Artemis, flashed out. She seems just as shocked as I am, I thought.

I moved from my throne and went over to hers, and me being me, I said, “Hey Arty, let’s go and talk to your hunters.”

What shocked me the most is how she responded. She isn’t screaming at me, instead, she stood from her throne and kissed me. She KISSED me! It wasn’t just a peck, it was a real kiss, and I kissed her back. She pulled away after another minute, and rested her forehead against mine, looking me in the eyes. “I’m sorry-” she started to say, but I cut her off. “No. Don’t be sorry, if anyone should be sorry it’s me.”

“What do you mean Percy?”

“What I mean, Arty, is that if I didn’t accept godhood all of those years ago, you wouldn’t be forced into marrying me…so for that, I am truly sorry.”

“Percy, it is not your fault. Who said that I was being forced into marrying you? I mean…I may have gone to Aphrodite asking her for advice on how to tell you how I felt about you, and she said that she would handle it, and she may have used her charmspeeking to convince father to do something along these lines…please don’t be mad.” I looked at Artemis’s beautiful face, amazed that she did all of that.

“You could have just told me of your feelings instead of going through all of this.” And with that I kissed her. We kissed, but that then turned into a make-out session. After we came up for air, I told her “we should probably get back to your hunters and hope that they don’t kill me…” I trailed off, just thinking about what the hunters might do to me upon sight.

Artemis looked at me with her big, silver eyes and said “or…?”

“Or… we could go back to my palace and go to the camp tomorrow?” I asked her, hoping not to be turned into one of her many jackalopes.

She gave me a look that suggested that I said the right thing. “Good answer. Now, let’s go back to your palace and have some fun.”

The look on her face was one that I haven’t seen in a long time…lust. I flashed us to my palace quickly and she started to make out with me, leading us to the bed, the look in her eyes said to go with it, but I’m a gentleman, so I asked “are you sure?” Instead of a response, she kissed me with more force.

I’m going to let you use your imagination for the rest of the night.
