Beep Beep Beep!, My alarm clock demanded.
"Yeah, yeah..." I mumble, my voice thick with sleep. I slam my hand down in the general area of the alarm clock until I hit it and it stops blaring at me to get up.
I listen to its cries and get out of bed. I lazily walk to my dresser and throw on some black jeans and a grey t-shirt. I put on my favorite sea-green hoodie and walk out of my room. I made my way to the bathroom and did my morning routine. Teeth, shower, attempt hair, and do a stupid pose in the mirror.
I walked out of the bathroom to the amazing smell of my mom's blue pancakes. "Good morning, mom. How'd you sleep?" I greeted her, making some milk for myself. I would make coffee, but my ADHD is enough.
"I'm doing great! Slept well, and breakfast will be ready in a minute." I sat down and drank the milk while scrolling through Facebook. A notification popped up on my Facebook and I tapped. I almost spit out my milk.
ORIENTATION TIME FOR NEW STUDENTS! WE APPRECIATE YOU CHOOSING GOODE FOR YOUR HIGH SCHOOL EXPERIENCE!:D
It was in ten minutes. I rushed to the plate next to my mom stacked with pancakes and took one off the top, shoving it into my mouth. I ran out the door with a muffled, "Bye Mom!"
I ran down the street, nearly getting run over multiple times on the busy New York streets. I dodged bikes, cars, and buses. Thank god for my reflexes.
I sped down the street, seeing the school's roof a few blocks ahead. I sprinted, working up a small sweat. Thank god for swimming and jogs. If I weren't as fit as I am, I would burst through the doors a sweaty, panting mess.
I near the school and stop in front of the steps leading towards the school and gasp...

My alarm chirped, telling me it's time to rise. I walk over from my bathroom, toothbrush in hand, and press the button for it to stop. I usually wake up before my alarm for some reason.
After finishing with my teeth, I take my hairbrush and hold it up threateningly, narrowing my stormy grey eyes. "We meet again, Hair..." I attack my hair with the brush, surprised as it glides smoothly through my golden locks of curly hair. I grin at the mirror. Today will be great!
I finish up brushing my hair and head downstairs. My dad is sitting at the breakfast table, planning out his next lecture. He looks up, hearing me, and smiles. His eyes crinkle and he looks so old. I smile back, saying a pleasant, "Good morning!" Bobby and Mathew run through the kitchen, Mathew chasing Bobby with a fork. In a swift move, I disarm Mathew and stop the both of them. "What is the meaning of this, gentlemen?"
Bobby tries speaking, but Mathew cuts in. I chuckle and point the fork at both of them. "Hush! So, if I'm getting this straight, Bobby spilled syrup on Mathew's favorite toy?" They nod. "So Mathew started chasing Bobby around with a fork and screaming at him. Bobby, what do you say?"
"Sorry, Mathew." He looked down in shame.
"And you, Mathew?"
"Sorry, Bobby." He did the same.
I smile. "Good. Now, I'll clean off your toy, you guys go eat," I say, handing the fork back. I put the toy dino underneath some warm water, and soon enough, it's good as new. I sit down and eat the waffles prepared by my dad. They were delicious, but the plate was so bland with barely any color. I wonder if anyone thought of something to make waffles, or even pancakes for that matter, more colorful? Eh, probably not.
I see the time and realize that I should get going to the school. I get up and kiss my dad goodbye, glad I was able to avoid Helen while she was in the shower. I walk out of the door in my normal outfit. I was wearing grey converse, some blue jeans, and an orange shirt with a black jacket over it. I slipped on my only thing left from my mom, a Yankees cap. When I wore it, it helped me feel closer to her. Plus, when I wore it, it made me feel invisible, as I could hide my identity by pulling the cap over my face.
I began the walk through the busy streets of Manhattan, following the crowd. I looked at the gleaming skyscrapers and older banks. Each ones architecture appealed to me, whether it be the faded stone columns or the inner lobby of the more modern businesses.
The noise of the city was getting to me, so I put on my wireless headphones and scrolled to my "Energetic playlist". I chose Phoenix by Fall Out Boy and mouthed the lyrics as I walked down the street.
You know time crawls on when you're waiting for the song to start, so dance along to the beat of your heart!
I arrived at the steps of the building, climbing them one by one, admiring the surprisingly stunning architecture. Support beams, the slanted walls, they seemed futuristic while also ancient. It was like modern architecture met stone cut from Mount Olympus itself. I made it to the top of the stairs and paused my music. I pushed the headphones back into my bag and took my hat off. Suddenly, I heard a gasp, and I felt eyes on the back of my head.

At the top of the stairs was a breathtaking girl, and I hadn't even seen her face yet. Her gorgeous blonde, frizzy hair blew in the small gusts of wind. She turned and glared and her stormy grey eyes hit me like a truck. Even glaring, they sparkled with amusement.
"What are you looking at?" She asked me, putting her hands on her hips.
"I- Ah, er, the school? It looks amazing." I try to defend my staring.
"Mhm...but, yes, it does." She turned back and marveled at the school
I climb the stairs and end up beside here. "What's your name, Goldilocks?"
She gives me a side glare. "Annabeth, not Goldilocks."
I chuckle."Nice name. Mines Percy."
