Cormac's POV:
I finish getting dressed. I walk out to the living room to see Meredith sitting with Austin. She was playing with his hair while he cuddled next to her. I mess with the button on the the black jacket I had on. I stand leaning on the wall just watching her. "Mama, are you gonna tuck me in tonight?" Austin picks his head up to look at her as he asks. He shakes her head "no buddy, auntie Maggie and Winston are gonna red you a story and tuck you in. When you wake up I'll be here." Meredith replies I smile watching how good she is with the kids. She loves them like her own. "No I want to cuddle." Austin whines laying his head on Meredith wrapping his arms around her. "We'll be back soon Austin. Mommy will come say good night when we get home." I say kneeling in front of the both of them. "I love you. Be good for auntie." Meredith says trying to pull Austin off of her. He holds tighter. "Buddy." Meredith says looking up.

Meredith's POV:
I've been very emotional lately. I look up trying not to cry. "Come on lad let's go see where Maggie is for a minute." Cormac tries to get Austin to move away from me. "No. I want mama." He cries. "Mommy has to go potty. Ellis found a gecko outside wanna come see it?" Winstons offers. Austin loosens his grip. "Yeah." He says quietly, I stand up walking away from the couch slipping my heels on. "Give mommy and daddy a hug and we can go see it." Winston replies. Austin hugs us both. I kiss him on the head. "Hey, mommy loves you." I say looking down at him. "Love you mama." He replies running outside. I look at Winston "thank you." I say he smiles and nods running after Austin.

Cormac walks over to me placing his hands on my hips. "Hey..." he softly says. I smile as he pulls me close. "Hi." I reply as he steps closer to me. Our hips are barley touching. I smile looking up at him as he brushes my hair back. "Wanna skip dinner... stay here cuddle, have a little fun when the kids go to bed?" I ask half joking. "Definitely not... I like your plans after dinner though." Cormac replies making me smile. He leans down kissing my lips soft and quick. I lay my head on his chest for a second. The second I lay my head on his chest I'm hit with a strong but not to strong expensive, masculine, fresh sent. I pick my head up smiling "are you wearing... cologne?" I question looking in Cormac's eyes he smiles "I am... is it too much? Do I need to chan-" I shake my head "no I love it. It's sexy." I reply Cormac's smiles more making his dimple more noticeable. "Like how sexy?" He questions I chuckle "pretty sexy babe." I answer he looks at me smirking a little "like... I'm getting lucky sexy or just normal everyday sexy?" Cormac asks as I fit my earrings. "We'll see." I place my hand on his chest pecking his lips before he can respond. I slowly run my hand down his abdomen over the button on his white shirt. He shakes his head looking at me. "I think the answer is yes." He whispers. I smile "I don't know I'm feeling pretty tired... and bad about Austin maybe after dinner I'll go snuggle him in his bed." I say turning to walk away. Cormac grabs my wrist pulling me back to him. "Hey... You are beautiful. I love you." He says I smile kissing him real quick "thank you baby. I love you."

Cormac's POV:
I place my hand on Merediths thigh wanting so badly to get just one touch. "So..." I say as we sit at a red light. "So..." Meredith copy's. "I know you probably don't want to talk about this... I don't want to talk about it but I-I uh." Meredith shakes her head smiling it was a small smile but it was there. "Babe." She turns her head to look at me. "I just want to know how the right man is." I say slowly pressing on the gas pedal. "I'm not telling you that." Meredith's replies. "just give me a hint." I plead moving my hand up her thigh more. "He is tall... he has kids, no pets, not a lot of friends." She replies. I look at her then back quickly at the road "that could be literally any guy." I protest "oh and he's really really cute." She adds. I know now she's messing with me. "You want to marry Avery?" I make my voice surprised playing along with her game. "Babe..." her voice got soft and quiet now sounding more genuine. "Mhm?"

"Can we- can we stop talking about this please?" She asks. I nod. "Yes. I'm sorry for bringing it up." I answer. She doesn't say anything and the car grows a little quiet. I can tell I ruined the mood and hate myself for it. Why the fuck did I have to ask her? Why couldn't I just let it go?
