(A/N: I will get to more in depth character studies, but have this for now. I'd like to think it's canon, but it was just a scrap I made one night.)
Louis POV
The rain splashed down onto the pavement in front of me as I walked with my head down. I had my earbuds in and a gentle song played as I marched on the puddled sidewalk. I tuned out the sound of the water squelching in my boots with every step that I took and tried to focus more on the music.
It would get me home like it always did.
I always looked forward to coming home from work. Everytime I walked through the front door, the sounds of my family just simply living in the house was all I needed to hear. I knew I was with my family.
I fidgeted with the change in my pocket and felt a drop of water drip onto my cheek from my sopping wet curls. Sighing, I kept walking, feeling my entire body soaked in water. Today wasn't a very good day to miss the bus.
I hoped Danyelle wasn't worried.
After a long 2 hours of walking, I finally made it to my house. Without hesitation, I walked up the driveway and looked up at the living room window to see 3 little faces looking out at me. Once I saw them, I smiled and waved, and I could see them erupt into a chaotic mess. I could just hear them.
'He's home! He's home!'
It happened every time.
Once I got up to the porch, I shook off most of the water and went to run my hands through my hair when the door swung open.
"Daddy!" Matti shrieked, jumping in my direction.
"Hey, my boy." I grinned as he wrapped his arms around my waist in a small hug. "I'm pretty wet, so..." I chuckled as he pulled back in confusion, a big wet mark on the front of his t-shirt. I looked up to see Charlie smiling at me from his brother's side as Malekai held the door knob, holding the door open for me. "Hello, boys."
"Hi." They both replied at the same time. Matthias stepped back into the house and I went to follow, but then saw Danyelle come around the corner. Her eyebrows were furrowed as she saw how wet I was.
"You walked?" She questioned, a sympathetic look in her eyes. "Can you boys go get some towels for him, please?" She asked, holding the door open as the 3 boys ran down the hallway on a mission for dry towels. I pursed my lips in a sort of smile, pulling out my earbuds and stuffing them into my pockets.
"I missed the bus." I sighed, stepping into the house. She grabbed my jacket and pulled it off, moving towards the kitchen to wring it out in the sink. Once the boys ran back, each with a towel in their arms, I thanked them and set them on the little table beside me. They ran back into the living room where they had been before I looked over to see my daughter sitting in her wheelchair, looking out the window.
"Hey, babe." I called out, peeling my t-shirt off. Malekai looked up and saw me trying to talk to her and he immediately jumped up and grabbed the handlebars of her wheelchair and wheeled her towards me. Upon seeing my face, she smiled a little bit and I knelt down, letting Danyelle take my sopping wet t-shirt.
I grabbed her hand and squeezed it, pushing a few strands of her dark hair behind her ear and looking into her blue eyes.
"How was today?" I questioned, feeling a drop of water fall onto my arm. She noticed it and furrowed her eyebrows. "I just missed the bus is all." I pursed my lips and planted a kiss on her forehead, standing back up. Malekai began to wheel her back towards where the boys were playing with action figures in the middle of the living room floor.
I went to turn around to grab a towel, but Danyelle threw one over my head, and began to roughly dry my hair. I chuckled a little. She left the towel hanging off my shoulders and reached up to fix my hair.
Amused, I just let her. When she was finally satisfied, she grabbed the towel around my shoulders and pulled me down for a kiss on the cheek.
"Go get some warm clothes on and I'll warm up something to eat." She said gently, patting my chest. I watched her walk into the kitchen and smiled to myself, taking off my boots and setting them down on the mat. I leaned over and patted my pants down with one of the towels just enough so I wasn't dripping everywhere and grabbed my bag, walking down the hallway to my bedroom.~Later~
I pulled a dry t-shirt over my head and ran a hand through my hair, finally feeling warm. I could hear Danyelle throwing together a dinner in the kitchen through the walls and the boys' voices in the living room.
I knelt down and pulled my earbuds out of my pant pockets, drying them off on one of the towels. I plugged them into my mp3 player and stuffed one of them into my ear eagerly, playing a song.
Music began to play and I let out a breath of relief. They still worked. I rolled them up and set them down on my nightstand, along with my mp3 player and grabbed my notebook off of it instead, walking out of my bedroom and down the hallway. I set my notebook down onto the counter and walked into the living room, ruffling Malekai's hair as I walked past the 3 busy boys, towards my daughter. Once I reached her I knelt down in front of her and took her hand again.
"Hey, Cons'." I smiled. "Want to sit with me at the table?" I questioned gently, searching her eyes for an answer. She just smiled. I smiled back and reached under her, picking her up like I have always done since she was a baby. She wasn't heavy at all. I walked back around the boys and sat down where I had set my notebook, setting Constance on my lap. I pulled her in with one arm and held her close, opening my notebook and flipping to a new page, past old sketches.
Once I got the notebook opened to a blank page, I leaned down and kissed my daughter's head.
"Imagine..." I whispered, resting my chin on the top of her head. "There's a butterfly. You love butterflies. You love the sun... and you're outside and... a butterfly lands on your nose." I looked down at her, seeing a small grin appearing on her pale lips. I grinned, knowing she was imagining it. I picked up my pencil and began to sketch a face, her face.
I held her tight to my side, letting the pencil slide over the paper, creating lines and curves that resembled my daughter. I could imagine the scene. Warm sun, a field of flowers, her smile as a butterfly fluttered down onto her little nose.
I loved her. I loved all of my kids. I wanted them to be happy.Danyelle POV
As I warmed up from leftovers from the supper that Louis had missed, I sighed and turned around, leaning back on the counter and watching as he carried Constance into the dining room and sat down, getting her comfortably situated. He flipped open the notebook and began to think about what he could draw for her.
I stood and watched as they both began to smile and he started to sketch something. I loved them. All of them. They were my family. Kai, Charlie, Matti, Constance, and Louis. We had all gone through everything together since we were brought together.
Movement caught my eye and I turned to see Malekai walking past the dining room and into the kitchen.(A/N: Yeah... I didn't get around to finishing it. More coming soon :)).)
