I lazily looked at myself in the mirror as I brushed the tangled, matted mess I called my hair. I groaned to myself as I pulled and tugged on the knots. My skin was pale as snow and the dark circles under my eyes were nothing new to me.
I hummed to myself as I brushed my hair, a smile appearing on my lips, in a good mood. The pills I had taken before my nap had worn off - I didn't like them because they made me dazed and sleepy.
My eyes darted to the door when the door knob started to turn. My breath hitched and I let out a small scream when the brush slipped out my hands and crashed on the floor. The door slowly started to open and my heart beat fast against my chest the more it opened.
I felt a another scream wanting to escape from my lips but I held it back, remembering one of Master's rules.
'Scream and I'll cut you. Every cut will remind you of your mistake' He would say.
The door suddenly swung open and my nurse, Jennifer, was standing in the door way with a small smile on her face. "I've been looking for you." She said sweetly. I shuttered at those words.
I hid in the closet, closest to the front door, hoping Master wouldn't find me. I heard the front door slam shut making the whole house shake. He's home and he's angry. He went straight to the basement where I was supposed to be.
"FUCK!" He yelled when he saw I wasn't there. He stomped back upstairs and headed to the front door. I heard a loud noise. He must have knocked something over, probably the kitchen table.
I pushed myself to the back wall of the closet bumping my head on the wall, making a little noise. Master stopped walking to the front door and walked in front of the closet. I could see his shoes through the space between the door and the floor.
I panicked and started breathing heavily, making noise by mistake. Suddenly the door swung open and Master was standing there with an angry look on his face. He crouched down to my eye level, now looking somewhat calm. "I've been looking for you." He said nicely and gave me a sarcastic smile then paused. His face harden back with anger.
"Where have you been you little bitch?" he spat at me. He grabbed me by the hair before I could answer and dragged me down stairs and into the basement.
"Scarlett, sweetie, it's time for your pills." Jennifer said and gestured me to come into my room. She always kept a little distance between us because of my sudden outbursts.
I didn't move, terrified by what I just remember. Jennifer slowly came up to me and gently pulled me out of the bathroom and into my room. I let her, staring down at my bare feet as I walked.
"It wasn't real. It wasn't real. It wasn't real." I mumbled to myself over and over again. Docter Watson told me to do this everytime I had a bad memory.
Jennifer sat me down on my bed then went down the hall to get me my pills.
I waited calmly for her to come back but it's taking her longer than usual. I picked at my nails and fidgeted with my hands nervously as I waited. What was taking her so long?
It normally takes her five minutes but it's been ten. What if Master got to her? What if he killed her and now he's coming for me. I started panicking again, breathing heavily.
My eyes darted around the room, searching for Master. He's not here. But just because he's not in my room doesn't mean he's not here. I quickly got off my bed and glanced down the hallway to see of Jennifer was coming. I didn't see her.
