Running From The Cops With Nishinoya Yuu

It was an ordinary night, just like every other, when suddenly you heard a loud bang. You look up from reading a bunch of Wattpad fanfics, when you see Noya running in the door. You jump to your feet and ask if he's alright. He responds with the most horrifying words, "They caught me...". The hair on your arms begin to rise as you feel yourself getting lightheaded. And before you knew it, everything went black.

You were walking down the hallway when you hear someone yell your name. "Y/N!!" You turn around and it was Nishinoya running full speed towards you. He was about ready to pounce when you quickly dodge his attack. He runs into a locker. "Ouch...." you hear him sigh. You giggle and help him get to his feet. You guys chat for a little, when suddenly Tanaka is running full speed towards the both of you. You move out of the way, just for Tanaka to do the same stunt that Nishinoya did. You walk away, ashamed at your so-called “friends” if that’s what you even want to call them at this point. After the school day was over, you headed to the gym to meet up with Kiyoko and Yachi. The two of them asked you to become their second-year manager so they would have an order of 3rd, 2nd, and 1st-year managers. You thought it was a silly idea, but after watching these boys play, you were amazed at their every movement. The spikers move like a jaguar pouncing at their prey, the blockers jump like a graceful rabbit, and Nishinoya, the guardian of the team, moves as fast as a cheetah. They moved with such grace, to the point where they make volleyball look so easy to play. You admired it so much and you are so grateful that Yachi and Kiyoko reached out to you to become a manager or you would never realize its beauty. 

After practice, Noya and Tanaka walked you home since it was getting dark. Even though you had two people with you, you still get nervous being out at night. You suddenly get a strange feeling that someone is following, so you turn around and see a black figure standing 10 feet behind you. You turn around and tug at Noya’s shirt. He looks at you confusingly and you secretly point to the guy behind you, who is getting closer and closer. Noya whistles to Tanaka and Tanaka notices the mysterious man. Tanaka picks you up and runs full speed to Noya’s house with Noya right beside him. “Why did you bring me here?” you say, your voice sort of shaky. Noya speaks up, “Well, this is my house, so I figured you’d be safer here.” You blush a bit and hide your face. You hear a knock near the window and you jump. You look over and it turns out just to be the branch of the maple tree in Noya’s front yard. “You okay?” Tanaka asks. “Yeah, guess I’m just a little bit, jumpy.” Noya smiles and adds, “You’re safe as long as your with us! There’s nothing to worry about. I’d go to jail for you if I had to.” All you could pay attention to was, “...I’d go to jail for you if I had to.” You blush at the thought of someone even willing to take that risk for you. 

After a few hours, you start heading home. You called your mom in advance to let her know that you’re at a friend’s house helping them study. You didn’t want to make her worry due to all the stress she has from work. You start shivering since it was cold outside due to it getting darker and the sun going down. Noya notices and gives you his jacket. You blush and continue walking. No one talks on the way to your house, it was as silent as the dead of night. You reached your house and hugged both Tanaka and Noya and you headed inside. 

The next day felt a little off, Noya and Tanaka weren’t at school, so you hung out with Hinata and Kageyama. After school, you go to Noya’s house to see if he was okay. You knock on the door and no one answers. You remember that his parents are in America for their jobs, so you walk in. The house was dark, it looks as if there is no sign of life. You go up to Noya’s room and there is no one there. You leave a note saying you stopped by and you leave. 

It is around 8 o’clock at night, and you sit in your room scrolling through your photo gallery. You smile at the memories that are flooding your head. You hear a knock on your window and you walk over to the window. You open it and there is Nishinoya, standing in the rain, in your front yard. You run downstairs and open the door. “Why are you here Noya? It’s raining outside! You’re going to catch a cold!” You take a closer look and he seems pale. “Noya?” He hugs you and says, “I’m sorry, I did it to help you.” You stand there, eyes widened. You could only imagine what he has done, it’s Nishinoya Yuu after all. You push him away gently and ask, “Wait, hang on. What did you even do?” He falls to the ground. “I killed him.”  You cover your mouth with your hand and you bend down to be at eye level with him. “Who did you kill?” Noya looks up and says, “The man following you last night. He followed us even to your house and I acted before thinking. Tanaka tried to stop me, but he couldn’t. You hug Noya. “Noya, you know what that means right?” He glances up at you and starts crying. “Yes, I know. A life sentence in jail, or even a death if I’m lucky enough.” You slap him. “DON’T THINK THAT WAY! It was self-defense. I would call the cops and let them know the whole situation.” He looks away, but then back up at you. “Can we go inside to talk? You’re getting soaked and could easily catch a cold.” You nod, but suddenly hear sirens. You and Noya make eye contact and run inside. “Oh no, they’re coming for me.” Noya frantically paces back and forth. You sit on the couch and try to think of a plan. It sounds like the sirens are getting louder. You turn off all of the lights and close all of the blinds and curtains. You look at Noya and say, “If they knock on the door, we can sneak out through the back.” Noya’s eyes widen, “Y/N I’m not letting you get involved in this. You have a future ahead of you and as for me, well I’m just going to be an old fisherman.” You hug Noya, his warm embrace makes you feel calmer. “Noya, please. I am going to hel-” You hear a knock at the door. You both sneak out the back door. You both run and jump over fences. You hear the sirens grow distant. You slip in the mud but quickly catch your balance. Noya helps you stand steady. You both continue running until you finally make it to Tanaka’s house. Noya pounds on the door. Saeko answers the door and says, “Let me guess, you two are running from the cops?” You and Noya make eye contact and smile awkwardly. “Come on, the car is already running.” She leads you two to the car, where Tanaka is already sitting in the front seat. “I told her the story and she is surprisingly happy for you Noya.” Noya smiles, “Wait, really?” Saeko chimes in, “Hell yeah! It’s badass!” You giggle, it’s relieving that you get to see smiling faces after hearing the news that Noya gave you not too long ago. Saeko quickly drives off, “I bought 4 plane tickets to Texas, you guys will be safe there.” You look at her, “Texas? Like in A-America? I barely know how to speak English!” Saeko chuckles, “You don’t need to, all you need to focus on is surviving. I’ll be there to protect you guys, so don’t worry!” You smile. Saeko turns on the radio and your eyes seem to be getting droopy. You fall asleep, cuddled up to Noya for warmth. 

    You suddenly wake up to Saeko’s blaring music. It is morning now and you look over to see Noya still sleeping. You sit up and stretch. “Good morning sleepy head!” Saeko says. “Good morning,” You smile, “Where are we?” Saeko looks back at you, “We’re almost at the airport. Wanna wake up the two knuckleheads?” You nod, “Noya, wake up. We’re almost at the airport.” Noya wakes up and smiles while rubbing his eyes, “Damn we weren’t caught yet?” You smile and shake your head, “Nope!” Saeko shakes Tanaka, “WAKE UP!” Tanaka jumps at the sudden impact. “Don’t do that Sis.” Saeko rubs Tanaka’s almost bald head, “You’ll be fine.” You guys arrive at the airport and check-in. “Gate 28,” the check officer replies, “here is a map if you need help on where to go.” You guys go to your gate and get on the plane. It suddenly takes off.

    After a few hours, you all arrive in Dallas, Texas. None of you were familiar with anything. It was all a different scenery, it looked like a whole new planet. You guys explore around and Saeko runs over. “Guys, I rented a house for the time being. I also enrolled you guys into high school to finish your last year and a half.” You, Tanaka, and Noya all make eye contact and do a panicking smile, “Okay.” you all chime in at once. Saeko laughs, “You guys will be fine. It’s like studying abroad.” You smile, “I guess this is our new beginning.” Noya smiles, “Yeah, I guess so…”
