The old lady looked scary, she wore a mix of mismatched pieces of clothing in clashing colors, a red muffler, bright green coat, a pointed black hat and a skirt of cloth patches. Her quaint dressing wasn’t the only odd thing about her appearance, her face was equally intriguing and everyone on the streets walked at some distance around her. A little boy, Harry he was called, was buying some sweets at a store just down the road. He had been eating sticky candy for since he could talk and never really took care of his teeth.
The old lady shuffled slowly until she got up to Harry, tapped his little shoulder and said “Ain’t your mama tell you to keep off these sweets, you might get aches”. Harry was a rude little boy so he snapped and said “What are you? The tooth fairy? And look at that pointed hat, your costume is ugly”. He blew a raspberry and stuck out his tongue at her!
There was a breeze with the tunes of a Christmas carol dancing on it and the old lady seemed to transform completely. She was now decades younger and looked charming with her golden aura. “I’m Dahlia, the spirit of Christmas future, eat no more candy and be nice, child!” She said. Dahlia disappeared with the tunes and Harry ate even more candy. That night he had a terrible toothache and cried in so much pain.
Harry had to go see a dentist and missed out on all the lovely Christmas food. He swears the Christmas witch caused his toothaches, but his mother tells him it’s the years of eating so much candy, but we know Harry wasn’t wrong, don’t we? If you know a Harry, you should let them know that Santa is out and around and he’s got his spirits in disguise. So you better be nice and watch out for the spirit of Christmas future!
