Yuletide Celebration

Oh, what joy! Days filled with glee
We welcome the season, we celebrate thee

As we come bearing gifts and golden light to him adorn
For in a manger 2000 years ago, a King was born

By the fire, tales are told of the child and three wise kings
It’s been said when he was born the angels came out to sing

Stories are told of the Holly King and his dark rule
He surrenders his life to the  Oak King at Yule

A time to say goodbye to the long night
A new beginning with the birth of the Sun and its light

With traditions and festivities fully underway
Evergreen and Ivy decorate windows and every doorway

Ever so careful we hang the holly with mistletoe
For the unsuspecting lovers to kiss in the snow

A coming together as we give thanks with pride
It is here once again we celebrate, the rebirth on Yuletide

With the promise of new life, full of light with new energy we begin
As we shed the fear and the past we carry within.
