This whole time I'm confused about how I'm going to approach this. I'm not sure how I should. I mean, obviously there's no point in finding Olive, but they don't know that. On the other hand, I think I have a plan. When Bash and I go on our mission, instead of searching for myself, I'm going to search for the secrets and files my dad was killed for having. If I can get Sebastian on my side and figure out what the government is planning, we'll win. The only thing I'm concerned about, is finding the files that were confiscated. For some odd reason, they kept them. Why they didn't burn them or try to get rid of them, I'm unsure. But I will find out. I've been thinking about it too much lately, so I decided to take matters into my own hands. "Commander Ryder?" I say approaching the slender woman, "Sebastian and I are ready to go as soon as possible." "Good," she says with a smile, "We're heading off now." I solute and walk off grabbing my bag. Just then Sebastian approaches me, "Liam, we need to talk."
A shiver runs down my spine as I think of all the possibilities of how he could have found out I'm female, but to my surprise he then continues, "But let's talk when we get to the Sapphire Division. It's important." I nod in return as the two of us walk out to the truck to leave. We begin our journey to my home. It's a long ride because currently, we're in the Scarlet Division. Around 2 hours later, we're in the Lemon Division. We stop there for a bit and explore the place before leaving to the Sapphire Division.
An hour goes by, and we're finally back to where it all began. While I know the place pretty well by now, seeing it again but with Sebastian is probably going to be strange. I begin feeling homesick immediately. Commander Ryder waves us off and drives away. We weren't told where she was going, but I have a feeling she's going to the Violet Division. That's where the Militia's base is. Well, there's bases in every division, but that one is the highest tech and the most successful. We head to a small road that seems to go in every direction. "So, the files, huh?" says Sebastian.
He's been pretty quiet ever since we left the base. I look at him as if I don't know what he means, "What are you talking about Bash?" He pauses and then looks at me and whispers in my ear, "I know who you are, Olive." I'm so shocked I can't even move. I stumble back, shaking my head, "You must be mistaken.." I try to sound as clear as possible, "Sebastian, I wouldn't lie to you." He laughs darkly, "We'll see Miss Olive." I look all around me and grab him aggressively, shoving him into an alley way, "What do you know? Are you going to turn me in or something? I don't want to have to spill blood that doesn't need to be spilt.." Sebastian looks genuinely surprised and shakes his head, "I wouldn't do that to you, I'm telling you this because I know....about the government's plans for the country."
I rest my grip on him, "How long have you known?" He smirks, "Since we brawled earlier, you should have bound yourself tighter." He winks and laughs. I blush bright red, "W-Well it's not my fault! I mean...." I trail off and shake my head. "So what do you know, Bash?" He smirks, "The files were a cover up. The real files were...stolen." I nod slowly, processing this, "So are the real files still missing?" He nods, "And we know this because we hacked into the files before they left and saw them." I stop nodding, "Wait, you what?" He shrugs, "If you want the details, you're going to have to run and get them. I just know we have the information we need to stop them." I scoff, "You expect me to believe that?" He shrugs again, "Why not? It's the truth." I take a moment to think this over. "Wait, Sebastian, what do you mean by 'we'?" He smirks, "I mean us, the members of the Syndicate. We have information on every Militia official, every spy, and most importantly, where the files are right now."
I raise an eyebrow, "And you're willing to trust this information to me?" He shrugs, "We know you're a good honest person, plus we're going to have to trust you one day. Not to mention your father was the one to uncover the files." I nod slowly, processing this, "When do we leave to get them back?" He smirks, "Now." I raise an eyebrow, "Now? Wouldn't it be better to wait until morning when the streets are less crowded? Also, how did you know I was Olive just by later this evening?" He shrugs, "I had a hunch. Also, I guess we could wait till dark to leave. But in the mean time we should have a place to stay. Let's go."
I lead him to my father's house and explain where everything is. As we get closer to the house, I feel more and more comfortable. Finally, I reach the front door and I open it for Sebastian. He looks surprised, but happily accepts. He walks in and looks around. "So where is your father?" Sebastian asks. I shrug, "He's dead. No one is living here, anymore that is." Sebastian just shrugs. I choose to ignore him and then clean some things up so we can talk about some things. "You know we can't sleep here, but we can talk in the mean time Bash."
He nods his head, and stretches. I sigh and look around at all the pictures and everything that's still there. I hear Sebastian giggling behind me, "Is this you?" He laughs, "You were a dorky looking kid!" I roll my eyes at him and laugh slightly, "I feel like all kids around that age were dorky looking." Suddenly there's an explosion in the distance.
Sebastian and I look at each other, our eyes widened. "What the hell-" The sound of another explosion interrupts me. I stand up quickly, as does Sebastian. The house shakes a bit from the second explosion and I can feel some rubble falling from the ceiling and onto the floor. "We need to get out of here as soon as we can," Sebastian says. I nod and we quickly leave the house. We start running around the area to get to a seemingly safe spot. "Where did they come from?" I say quietly.
