Chapter nine: New Greenie (part two)

Elle's POV

"Love, love wake up love." Newt says shaking my shoulder. My eye's flutter open to meet his chocolate brown ones, and I can't help but smile. I move to stretch my arms as I begin to recall the events of the day. "Wait where's Lee?!" I ask, beginning to become scared. "Hey, hey it's ok, she woke up early from her nap she's with Gally right now." Newt says placing his hands on my shoulders to try and calm me down. "Oh thank god." I say trying to calm my breathing. "Go on and get dressed. I saved you some dinner, I'll be out by the bonfire." He says, stepping to the door, giving me a caring smile. I got up and went to a crate that was at the foot of my bed. I pulled out this white sundress with sunflowers on it and slipped it on. I then combed my fingers through my hair using a bandana to hold it back, I then pulled out a couple pieces to frame my face. I then slip on my boots lacing them up before I head out of my hut.

I take a step out of my hut feeling the cool evening breeze blow across my face. "I'm gonna get you." I hear Minho yell as he runs across the glade. 'Who was he chasing?' but then I saw Lee running around in circles with Minho and Ben chasing after her. I could tell that the two of them were trying their best to run slowly so that they could let her win. I begin to walk over to the boys when I spot Gally on the side mixing his brew. "Hey Gal," I say walking up to him. "Hello princess. Who are you dressing to impress?" He asks me, wiggling his eyebrows. Wow I was happy we didn't inherit the same eyebrows. "No one," I say even though I know full well that he knows who I was dressing up for. "How's Lee?" I ask him to try to change the subject. "She's good, she keeps callen Minho uncle Min Min and Ben 'Benny' though and that is shucking hilarious." he says pointing to Lee who was now on Minho's back running around the bonfire. "I can't believe they sent her up, she can't even be older than five." 

I say tears pricking at my eyes. "I know, but at least we can protect her now." he says, pulling me into a hug. I look over to my left to see Newt walking over to Ben with a tray of food in his hands. I quickly release from the hug smoothing out my dress and fixing my hair. "God you're ridiculous, just ask him out already!" Gally says a little too loudly. "Gal, slim it!" I yell back, slapping him in the arm. "Ow, you know for a small shank you have one hell of a shucking arm." he says rubbing the spot where I hit him. I just laugh at him and walk over to Newt. "Hey," I say. "Hey love.. Oh um wow, you look, um." He said looking up to me his cheeks becoming flushed. "Too much?" I say, suddenly regretting choosing the dress. "No, no, no, not at all... you look beautiful love." He says, placing a hand on my shoulder. This small action causes my cheeks to burn a brighter red than I ever thought possible. "Um, here's your food." He says handing me the bowl. "Thanks." I said, taking it from him and sitting down on the ground facing Lee and Minho.

I watch Lee run around with him and Ben. As soon as she thinks she escaped from one the other is right around the corner. Me and Newt watch her for an hour or two before she finally gets too tired of running around with the boys. She spots me and Newt and comes running over. "Ellie!" She says excitedly jumping into my lap. "Well hello Lee," I say giggling as I resichuate her on my lap. The sun had completely set by now and all the boys were playing and singing around the fire. Gally had started up his fighting ring and was fighting Ben at the time, he asked me to make sure Lee doesn't come over there when he's fighting. He didn't want to scare her, or to lead a bad example. You know being her bigger brother and all. Lee was playing with my fingers as she sat in my lap, I was resting my head on Newt's shoulder while he had one of his arms around my shoulders while the other combed through Lee's hair. And his head rested on mine. 'God how badly I wanted him to be mine.' I thought to myself. A second later Minho comes up and says, "Hey can I steal Newt from you for a second Elle?" "it's not like I own the man." I say with a laugh. Neither of the boys move so I don't think they got my point. "Yes, you can have him you stupid shank." I say shooing them away. "I'll be right back love." he says, placing a kiss on Lee's forehead, causing her to giggle.

Newt's POV

"I'll be right back love." I say, placing a kiss on Lee's forehead, causing her to giggle. I then get up and walk with Minho to where all the other boys are. "What do you want mate?" I ask, a little annoyed that he took me away from Elle. You see I really liked Elle, ever since the first time I saw her in the box, I just knew. And over the past month my feelings for her have only grown. I love absolutely everything about her. The way she bites her lip when she's focused, or how her forehead scrunches when she's upset, or how her nose wrinkles when she laughs. How in her sleep whenever she is having a nightmare she will grab one of the pillows and hold it tight. I love how her eye's sparkle in the light of the day and how they flicker with the light of all the stars. I... Love... Her. "Don't use that tone with me mister, you're the one who's sitting over there looking like an old married couple with their kid." 

Minho says pointing to her. "Don't point she might see you!" I whisper yell, slapping his hand down. I look back to see if Elle had noticed but I only see that she has now lied down on her side with her eyes closed, holding Lee tightly in her arms. Smiles plastered on both their faces. "Any ways I pulled you over here because you need to tell her your feelings, we all know that the two of you are practically in love with each other, so just man up and ask her out already. And I'm sorry but if you don't I will have to take matters into my own hands." Minho says with a smirk on his face. "You are all ridiculous. She doesn't see me as anything more than a friend and I can't risk losing the best thing that's ever happened to me since I got in this shuck hole!" I yell tears pressing at my eyes. "Well then I guess it's up to Minho the love doctor to fix this shucking mess." he says, smirking and pointing at himself with both thumbs. "Don't you even dare." I growled at him through gritted teeth. "I'm going to put Elle and Lee to bed now." I say walking away. I hear him mumble something about me being an 'oblivious shank' but I just brush it off and walk back over to the girls. 

They were both sleeping peacefully by the fire. "Hey Gally can you help me get the girls to their room?" I whisper yell over to him to try and not to wake them up. He just nods and walks over. He tries to pry Lee from Elles grasp but there was no way Elle was gonna let her go, so he just pickles the two of them up in his arms while I walk ahead opening the door to the hut for him. I would have picked them up myself but with my bad leg I didn't think it was a good idea. Gally sets the two girls down on the bed and steps out. "I'll see you in the morning Gally." I say to him heading to close the door. "Good," he says, beginning to walk away. But right before I close the door he turns back around and says one more thing. "You have my permission by the way, just please don't hurt her." he says before fully walking away. "I couldn't dream of it." I whisper to myself.

I head over to the crate at the foot of my bed grabbing one of my large T-shirts. I somehow got Lee out of Elle's arms and I slipped the shirt on over her dress, before then slipping off the dress. I did this quickly and didn't look because I didn't want her to be uncomfortable. I then grab Lee cradling her in my arms, "you know you have an amazing sister." I whisper to her as I bring her over to another crate in the room. There were some clothes that had come up with her that were her size, so I grabbed one of the night gowns and changed her for bed. I then take Lee's sleeping body and carry her back to the bed. Placing her in front of Elle pulling them both into my chest. "Goodnight my loves" I whisper into Elle's hair, placing a sweet and gentle kiss on head. I then fall asleep with both the girls that I love in my arms.
