Warnings: swearing, fighting

Distant sounds of partying greatly contrasted my mood. Splashing of pool water rang out clear along with laughter, the members of the beach determined to show me their blissful ignorance. My hands supported the weight of my head, as I desperately didn't want to participate in any games tonight. However the image of the crumpled piece of paper with my visa days marked on it burned a hole in my mind. My visa ended tonight and if I didn't participate in a game, I'd surely die. The slim chances of surviving a game were better than the certain death of an expired visa.
People poured out of The Beach's doors, a loud mixture of cheering and laughter following them. The alcohol and drugs always did a great job at making them forget that death was very much possible. The last to leave the now empty lobby were the militants, guns tucked in their waistbands and a dangerous aura emitting from them. Everyone at The Beach did their best to avoid them as they were nothing but trouble, however I didn't care enough about my own safety to not get involved. If it were some deserving idiot getting beaten I'd leave it be, but when it's some random militant trying to drag Kuina back to their room, I'll risk it.
Gravel crunched under my feet as I walked away from the militants, knowing the guy that I started a fight with still wanted my head on a platter. The roar of car engines sounded behind me, I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding, relieved that the militants hadn't seen me.
Shock froze me into place as a gunshot echoed through the night air, my eyes scanned my body, reassured to find no bleeding bullet holes in my flesh. "Fuck I missed" A familiar voice swore, I turned on my heel, seeing the guy I had broken the nose of a few days prior. I muttered a quiet 'shit' as I whipped back around, getting ready to take off in a sprint.
A hollow thumb was heard as my getaway plan was cut short, my body almost immediately colliding with a figure who had placed himself behind me. My head shot up, meeting the man's gaze, a prominent scar over one of his eyes. "Oh...hey Aguni..." a nervous smile spread across my face, trying my best to somehow talk myself out of certain death. Aguni didn't reply, only raising his stare to behind me, multiple footsteps signalling the approach of the other militants. More gravel scraped together as I turned to face the advancing militants, deciding that having my back to Aguni was slightly better than having my back to an entire group of murders.
"You're the bastard that broke my nose!" The familiar man spoke, jabbing his gun into my chest with every word. My eyes flickered from face to face, brain racing to figure out an escape. "I told you that you wouldn't get away with it" A smug smile appeared on his face, it was a special type of smugness, the type you could only achieve if you were a militant.
"Yeah sorry about the whole nose thing, at least you'll have a cool story to tell?" I spoke, trying to get out of this alive.
"You fucking beat the shit out of me!" He cried, gun pointed at my chest, the anger rose to his face, painting it a harsh red. I knew that I had to do something, and do it quick. My mind drew blanks on a plan, instead only remembering scenes from cheesy action flicks. I guess I had nothing to lose.
Another explosion of sound echoed as the man's gun went off, I had grabbed the side of the gun as swiftly as I could and moved it to the left a little, successfully having the bullet fire away from me. Adrenaline took over my body as I twisted the man's wrist, causing the gun to come free of his grip. I seized the opportunity and took it into my hands, now pointing it at the group of militants, who had all drawn their weapons. I stared down a dozen gun barrels, anxiety rising alongside the fiery pit of determination to live. "Clever move, but it seems you forgot something" Niragi said, moving his rifle from pointing at me to resting on his shoulder. My confusion was soon replaced with surprise as a hand seized the gun from me, too quick for me to avoid. I mentally slapped myself, appalled that I had forgotten that the leader of the militants was directly behind me.
"Shit, I forgot you were there. No offense Aguni" I scolded myself, now finding myself trapped in some form of hug, but like a hug with intent to keep me still so I can be killed. Feet collided with shins as I tried my best to break out of this arm prison. The furious man approached me, snapping my head to the side with a sturdy punch.
"I'm going to kill you, you smug little bastard" He spat, striking me once more, bringing the metallic taste of blood to my mouth."Wait before you kill me I need to confess something" I spoke, hoping the man would allow me to say my last words. The man paused, before signalling for me to just hurry up and say it. "You'll have to come closer, it's kind of embarrassing" I admitted, the man coming closer to my face just so he could get it done with "my confession is that this is the closest thing to a hug I've ever had before." The man looked at me confused, not entirely sure how to respond, however a burst of white stars appeared in his vision as I headbutted him as hard as I possibly could. Wrapping my legs around Aguni's, using my feet to push onto the back of his knees, causing him to tumble slightly. This was enough for me to break free of his hold, taking advantage of everyone's surprise and running as fast as I could in the other direction. Bullets spat dust and gravel up at me as they hit the ground around me, only barely missing.
"What the fuck just happened" Niragi questioned, his rifle still resting on his shoulder.
"I don't know" was all Aguni said before ordering everyone into the cars, telling them that they still had arena's to attend.
