A hustle birthed in the household with rushing steps and battered breaths, women hurried to finish the last bits of sehri for the family. In the stillness of the night everyone was gathered in the dining room, eyes half closed or some even snored.

"Allah Hamza" Rabia groaned shaking her youngest making him jolt awake wiping his mouth off any residue of his sleep.

"Time khatam hogaya tu ohir rote rehne tum ke kuch khaya nahi" his mother scolded and he nodded in acknowledgment.
(Time will come to an end and you'll be whining about how you didn't eat properly by the end)

First day of ramadan was always hectic as sleepy eyes refused to open and minds refused to work.

Rubbing his tired eyes Zahan was almost at the end of the staircase when his mother's voice asked him a favour.

"Zahan."

"Jee Ammi?" He asked in a sleepy voice, it came out raspy and groggy.
(Yes?)

"Mera bach jao jaakar Zoya ko dekh aao me gaye thi uthane per woh abhi tak neeche nahi aaye" his mother said and he held back a groan of irritation, having to walk up all the stairs again was tiresome.
(My child go check up on Zoya. I went up to wake her up but she hasn't come down yet)

"Me call kardeta hoon" he said and Rabia gave him the stink eye before nodding.
(I'll call her)

A loud shrill of her phone made Zoya's half asleep self fall off her bed. She had sat up at the edge to get up for sehri but her tired eyes rebelled against the idea of waking up.

Having to had slept almost an hour ago finishing assignments wasn't a good idea after all.

"Hello" she mumbled rubbing her eyes, with one eye scrunched close she navigated through her room making her way to the bathroom.

"Tumne roza rakhne se pehle kuch khana hai ke nahi?" He asked and she pulled the phone back, only to roll her eyes at the caller I'd.
(Do you want to eat something before fasting or not?)

"Aa tu rahi hon ab aur kia karon me?" She retorted.
(I'm coming what else do you want me to do?)

"Tu thora jaldi aajao" he said sitting on a couch in the living room not yet going in the dining area.
(Be quick then)
