Sun. Laughter. No Stress. That's how a perfect morning begins. The warmth of the nice Summer consumed my body in a heartbeat as soon as I looked outside. I loved this time of year, but I was always fond of the wonter as well. Either way, it was good for my business. I swiped the card at the winter, from saying 'closed' to 'open'. My eyes scanned the small room, counting every chair. 12 in total. Then I checked if every table had a flower and sugar on it. Seemed to be right though. Everything was on it's place. Ready, for another day. I sigh. A smile crept on my face as I approached the small kitchen. The coffee was brewing, the ice was ready to be taken. It truly seems like a good day. The vibe was set high, the people quite friendly and my coffee shop opened as much as it can be. Just then my first customer arrives for the day. I put on a bright smile, awaiting his order and listening to his words.
It's been nearly 5 years now. 5 years of working in my own very shop. At first, I was very uncertain and hesitant. I thought, that I'd regret it later on surely. Here I am though, happier than ever and the profit isn't the worst either. I had a good amount to completely redecorate this whole establishment. It looks more bright now, since the windows are way bigger now. The colour of the walls are drowned in a deep shade of (insert favorite colour), my favorite. The furniture was uprated, now looking more comfortable than old and rusty. The machines were now replaced by their newest models, creating a much more tasty experience for every customer. Adding to that, I even took a few Iced Tea flavors onto the card, having a lot more to choose from or for those, who despise coffee. I'm more into Tea myself, the Idea of creating a Coffeeshop instead of a Tea-Shop remains a mystery forever. But I don't regret my decision.
"Good Morning, (Y/n)!" A high pitched voice yelled, attracting unwanted attention from my customers, who were scattered all over the room. My eyes landed upon the Girl, who had called out to me. It was Annie, my one and only temporary worker. Her blonde hair was tied back into a short ponytail, while her bangs covered her eyes a bit. Her bright smile was something you couldn't miss though. It was beaming ever so brightly, making it unforgettable and for everyone to notice. She hurried in small skips to me, stopping at my side and hugging me, which made me laugh.
"Hello to you as well, Annie."
She retreated her arms from me, taking her her uniform and hurries into the back, getting changed into it. She was always excited to work here for some reason, though I must admit, we always had a good time. Considered I am her Boss, we still didn't treat each other differently. Of course she had the respect, that every worker should have, though we had more like a friendship than a work atmosphere. But she has been here for the get go, which is why we're so close. Adding to that, she is my only employee here, since I only was in need of one and that hasn't changed since she's here. Business is running good, but we can handle the work as a Team alone. Just on cue she is back on my side, glancing my way and slowly taking over my position.
"You can take a break, (Y/n)! I'll handle it." She said confident like always and just like that, she began to slowly drift off into the work. A soft smile took over my lips and I ruffled her blonde hair, making her chuckle.
I back away from the desk and all the work, making my way down to my office, where more work awaits. Paperwork, to be exact. I sigh as I plop into my chair, spinning around a few times in circles and then facing the monitor.
"Here we go, I guess." I mumbled to myself and began typing away.
Entering my passwort first, then going through my mails and then all the financial work. This was all. Though it was something noone should underestimate. It was a lot. The worst thing about it though...was math. I always hated math and this type of work was full of it. I groan after opening the first mail and seeing all these numbers, it was really frustrating. Luckily there was no open payments, that I had to look up. Everything was payed off. That's how I like it. After clicking through the mails and sorting them out, I thought I was finished with them. That's when another one came up. I thought about leaving it at first, though my eyes read the title of it and my curiosity got the better out of me.
'Renting for an evening' It said. I began to hum as I pulled the mouse to the mail and clicked on it. My eyes read every line, not missing out on one detail. A band wants to rent my coffee shop for an evening, so no fans would disturb them while they could get some peace. They must be pretty known then, though I don't recognize a Band that goes by the name 'NO SPIN'. I opened a random browser, looking them up immediately and receiving a lot more, than I originally expected. I began to play with the end of my sleeves, deeply in thoughts. Then I smiled. It's a one time opportunity. Annie knows them probably, since she's been listening to a lot of Korean music lately. She would be over the Moon.
My attention was set back on the unanswered Mail. I began to type, agreeing to the request. I received an instant reply back, stating, that they'd arrive in two days. I yawn and stretched my limps, feeling a bit better after doing so and concentrated on the remaining work.
