They were 19 when they met. Young and dumb of course. Looking for that college romance and going to parties every weekend. The first time they met was actually at a college party.

Elera had been dragged to this specific party by her friends who were trying to help her get over her last relationship. It had been over a month and she still felt like she screwed up, when in all reality, her ex was at fault. Elera sat on one of the old fold out chairs and her friends brought her a drink in a red solo cup. She tried to deny it but peer pressure insisted otherwise.

You see, Elera wasn't considered popular, or one of the "pretty girls", however she grew up being friends with some of the girls that would be. She realized that without them, she would probably be even more of a nobody, which she didn't mind. Popularity didn't matter to her.

Elera had pale skin with bright blue eyes. Brown hair and straight white teeth. Shy, quiet, and kind. She was so considerate, and sensitive but in a good way.

Her friends ended up going off to dance so she just sat there. Staring off into the distance wondering if things could have gone differently with her ex. Her eyes glossed over and tears began to form.

Cole arrived at the party late, like he always did.

Cole was known as the player. He went through more girls then you could keep track of. He was pretty popular too. He played in football and track. He was tall and muscular. Dark brown hair and green eyes. Most people thought he was an insensitive jerk, but those people just didn't know the real him.

As the party started to die down he made sure to say bye to his friends so he could stay after to help clean up. He looked over and noticed a girl sitting alone crying into her palms.

"Um, hey. You okay?" He asked as he walked over to her.

Elera looked up and saw it was Cole. She had always thought of him as the spoiled rich kid who just used girls. She thought he would only talk to girls he wanted 'something' from. So she brushed him off and put her head back down.

"Look, I know we don't know each other, but I'm still worried about you. No one deserves to be alone."

Elera looked up again. Intrigued. 'Does Cole actually have a personality?' She wondered.

"Hold on. Give me a minute. You don't need to see the makeup running down my face." She covered her face with her hands and tried to wipe the running mascara off of her face.

Cole sat down next to her and gently pulled her hands away from her face. "Hold on, It's bad not to cry. I think it makes a person stronger."

It was just like a romance movie. The mushy gushy "I think I might be falling in love with you" type thing. The popular kid + the weird kid. Literally every romance movie ever, but this story is different, just wait.

So they started dating eventually. Obviously Elera got over her ex, blah blah blah. They also ended up moving into an apartment together. Deep conversations every morning and night.

"I remember practicing asking you out in a mirror." Cole said one night.

"How would you have done that? We met at a party and it went from there." Elera asked half asleep.

"True, but I still had to ask you on our first date, right?"

They soon drifted off to sleep. In the morning Elera woke up to Cole staring at her. She was laying on his arm.

"Good morning sunshine. How'd ya sleep?" He asked.

"I slept really well, and waking up next to you made it even better." She rolled and turned to face him.

"Good. Now how about I make us some breakfast. Oh no wait, this would be considered lunch." He chuckled

Elera looked at the clock. It was almost 12pm. "WHAT?! WHY HAVEN'T YOU EATEN TODAY? WHEN DID YOU WAKE UP?"

"I woke up around 8. I would have had breakfast already but you were sleeping on my arm and I didn't want to wake you."

"No? Babe, I appreciate it but you didn't need to do that."

"Well I needed to let you get enough sleep for tonight."

"What's tonight?"
