Life ...
Such a beautiful thing, but what is life without someone to share it with. I once met someone that I couldn't let go. She became apart of my family and yet she wasn't in my arms. She had the most beautiful smile, her pleasant smile, brought me butterflies and made me nervous. I couldn't stop staring sometimes; but it felt like I was locke up in my perfect world with no escape to see what's beyond her eyes.
The lights of the ball room, made her dress glitter, as she made her way down the stairs. My arms were open, but she walked past me. I bent my head embarrassed as I was I turned and looked, only to see her in my brother's arms.
The irony of how I felt, was unexplained, I know nothing about her or what she meant to my brother. I wished every second to have a chance with her, but I had to respect my brother to. Other guest arrives and greeted me. My brother came to introduce her. This was the moment I felt drowned.
"Liam. May I introduce Elaine, my girlfriend."
I shaked her hand as I felt nervous I cleared my throat and introduced myself as well.
"Hello. I'm Liam, pleasure to meet you madame."
Her elegant beauty, made me want her more, yet I couldn't have her. I kept these feelings to myself. I felt as though I would never see her again.
12 years later....
Disappeared in the cold dark night, I needed some air, as I took a trip to the Caribbean for business. My day wasn't as perfect, work always seemed stressful but the only thing I loved was being in the sky. Apart from being a business owner, I was a pilot. The sky was my only happiness. It was the only place I felt as peace. The open sky and the beautiful night lights that roam beneath the plane brought joy to me.
I stood in the cold as I smoked a cigarette. I lifted my head only to glance at the woman that walked pass me in a rush. Her British accent was a bit off, and she seemed tired and broken. For some reason, her face looked familiar. Her eyes was weary as she rushed to the door her worried reaction got me thinking of helping.
I notice that her papers fell, being a gentleman I offered to help. She lifted her head and we made eye contact. Time slowed down all around us. Then I remembered Elaine, twelve years ago I remembered my brother introduced her to me at the fundraiser when we had just started our company.
I felt as though it was coincidence, but the way she looked wasn't how she looked 12 years ago. Eliane didn't remember who I was. Something felt wrong. Her eyes seemed scared and tired. As I handed her the papers I noticed a mark on her upper arm. As though someone hurt her. She immediately pulled away and left.
This was something I'd never let go. I immediately called my brother.
"Lucas. I ran into Elaine today!. Just thought I'd tell you."
My brother and I were very close, he was thrilled to hear about her. Unfortunately she lost her memory when I was away. He was very ill and he asked me to find her. He wanted to meet her again. I was confused, why did they separate. My brother had no more words to say, but I kept my promise to find her.
I set out on a task that felt like it wasn't gonna end. But then I saw her again. I decided to follow her this time. She visit a local marketplace and purchased food then she crossed the street and went into a restaurant where she worked. I was confused as to how a girl like her got this way.
I watched Elaine for over 2 months and I noticed her life wasn't easy. She had kids and she married a man who was disrespectful, mean and abusive. She didn't deserve that. She lived everyday of her life scared of him. She had bruised arms and broken emotions yet she struggled to survive. No woman deserves to be treated that way.
I decided to help. I walked up to her as she stood on the sidewalk waiting for a taxi to go home after a long days work. I looked at her and asked if you remember me. She nodded as though she was scared looking around paranoid she asked me to leave. Stubborn as I was I didn't care. I held her hand and pulled her into the near by bakery and offered to help fix her clothing that seemed rip. I gave her my jacket asked the cashier to bring her a cup of coffee
She was hesitant, but I wasn't gonna give up. She placed her hands on the table and she was about to sip the coffee. Just to satisfy my ego, I gently touched her hand, and said
"Its going to be ok. I know you, you're family."
With those words, she looked at me confused and questioned me. I didn't reply I wanted her to wonder. She continued to question why did I help her. What was my gain?. But little did she know i was doing a favor to my brother.
Her eyes stared deeply and the moment of true pleasure rings through my body. I felt like just kissing her soft lips but I needed her to trust me.
I left her wondering, I know she'd come to me. It was only a matter of time.
Elaine, came to my office 2 days after our encounter on the street. She had determination in her eyes and so many questions. I had little information but whatever I knew I had to make her remember. Unfortunately she did. She remember spending alot of perfect moments with my brother.
But then, how things have changed. To Elaine he was dead. To me it was something I was gonna keep to myself. I kept my promise. I made sure Elaine was happy. I spent every moment with her. I got to know so much about her that I fell more in love. Yet I choosed to sacrifice everything I felt.
I never said a word. Days turned into months. When it was two weeks before Christmas, her husband had beaten her. He accused her of having an affair. Ye she did no such thing. He was an alcoholic with no ambition or love. Just a monster looking for a prey.
Elaine was broken and I got angry. I couldn't hold in what I felt. I listened to her cry and wondered what would she do I kissed her. I asked elaine to come into my office.
The next day she came. She told me everything that happened at home. Yet I had no courage, I crushed the pencil and broke it in two. She looked at me and wondered if I was okay. We got into a heated argument because I wanted more than a friendship with her.
I gently hold both sides of her arms and pulled her close to me, I looked directly into her eyes and I saw love and passion as though she wanted to kiss me to. I gently drifted my head closer to hers and I kissed her. Elaine pulled me closer to her and kissed me back.
I ran my hands underneath her clothing, removing her bra and then her white shirt. She didn't seem scared but I can tell she wanted me as much as I wanted her.
She placed her hands around my neck and kissed me more and pushing the moment. I couldn't resist anymore, I lifted her onto my hips and presses her against the wall. One thing lead to another but I had no regrets. For this was what I wanted.
This went on for 3 years until, i got a call from my brother. He said he was coming to town. I felt guilty, but it felt so right. I didn't care at the moment, but it bothered me of what my brother was going to think.
I know he was a humble man, but elaine was his life. Something I over stepped. I drowned in my guilty pleasure as I was worried. To Elaine it was nothing but sex. But I knew how I felt and regretted that I never told her. Somehow, I felt like elaine felt the same way but she had the at most love for my brother Lucas.
Truth be told, I was left in the dark right after my brother came. They spent everyday together. Unfortunately up to now I couldn't find the courage to tell her. But I told her I would do anything for her. I don't care what my punishment is. But she will never understand how I feel.
