Chapter Eighteen

It's been a month since Rapunzel and Eugene left for the dark kingdom and they were only a couple of minutes away.

Cece was so tired of being the queen regnant, she couldn't wait to go back to being just a princess, the heir, she can't wait to go go to focusing on solving the truth behind her hair. "Flynn- Are you okay?"

"Wait? Oh, yeah, I'm fine. I was just thinking about something Lex said," Cece nodded her head, that makes sense, Lex normal says things which will have your head spinning for hours, she loves dropping little bombs like that.

Flynn looked over to Ana, he knew that he didn't get along with his eldest younger sister but he knew that she would never hurt him or anyone in Corona, let alone their family. Learning that Ana had a reason for disliking Cass, Flynn wondered, did she have a reason for disliking him?

Flynn felt himself turn cold, he always blamed Ana for their terrible relationship but it might have been his fault this whole time.

"Mummy!"

"Daddy!"

Flynn was removed from his thoughts as he saw his mother and father for the first time in a month and a moment he forgot about everything running through his mind- and then another thought came to mind, Cece.

"Are you ready to see them?" Flynn asked, remembering just how pissed Cece was last time she saw their parents. Cece nodded, though Flynn could tell she was just being polite, Cecelia Fitzherbert was always polite. "It's okay to be angry, you know?"

"Flynn, I'm fine."

He sighed, "Whatever you say."

Rapunzel gave her two youngest children the biggest hug she could give, she hated being away from home for long but Edmund was sick, it wasn't like he could come to Corona.

Eugene gave his middle daughter a warm smile, out of Eugene and Rapunzel, Ana was closer to him. "So, what did I miss?"

"Not much," Ana said simply with a shrug, Eugene went to say something but then he spotted Rapunzel walked over to Flynn and Cecelia.

"Welcome back home mum," Cece said with a smile and unlike Flynn, Rapunzel couldn't tell it was fabricated.

Rapunzel hugged her eldest child, she was so proud of Cece. Corona was in one piece, Rapunzel remembered when she was a queen regent, she couldn't have said the same... "I am so proud of you," she said, her unique green eyes beaming.

As she felt the large hand of her husband rest on her shoulder, Rapunzel knew it was time to talk to Flynn. She gulped, they both knew that Flynn wouldn't take what they need to tell him lightly.

"Flynn..." Eugene started, his tan skin appearing paler as he search for the right words to say, but there was none. Flynn picked up on this and felt reasonably uncomfortable, he felt that he was a kid all over again, about to get in trouble.

"How about we talk inside?"

'Great!' Flynn thought, his parents have been home for less than ten minutes and he was already getting in trouble for something. He sat on his bed as he waited for his parents to find the words for whatever they were trying to say. "Are we going to be in here all day?"

Rapunzel shook her head, "No."

Eugene sighed, he knew what he had to say. "Flynn, while visiting your grandfather, he asked us to propose something to you."

"Okay??" Flynn replied, confused. What would his grandfather want from him? Flynn wasn't his favourite, he was close with Edmund, though it was obvious that Cecil and Cece were his favourites.

"You know how your grandfather is sick? Well, he is getting worse and he fears that in a couple of years he may...." Eugene didn't want to finish that sentence but he didn't have to, Flynn caught on soon enough.

Rapunzel continued for him, "Edmund fears that if he dies, he won't have an heir as your dad is already the king of Corona, he also thought maybe Cecelia but she is the next in line for Corona. And then there is you-"

"No! No way! One kingdom already hates me enough, not another!"

"Please Flynn, just think about it for a while?"

Flynn went to leave the room but before he did he said, "I'll think about it but it's a no."
