Zuko was playing on his phone as Katara was sleeping in the morning, the angry birds music played in her room as Zuko was zoned into his game. Katara had her head against his lap as he was sitting up in bed letting her sleep in.

There was a knock at the door and Zuko looked up confused but it was quiet. He didn't think much of it as he went back to his game. There was another knock.

"What?" Katara groaned pulling the blanket up to her face as they didn't think much of it.

"Good morning my darling Katara," an old woman walked in and paused seeing the boy in her granddaughters bed.

"Gran gran?" Katara gasped sitting up from the bed as Zuko looked at her surprised.

"Katara there's a boy in your bed," she said slowly as Katara was wearing a loose large tee shirt as Zuko had his hoodie on still with the hood around his head.

"I-uh gran gran this is Zuko, m-my boyfriend..." Katara blushed rubbing the back of her neck nervously.

"A boyfriend?" The woman wasnt happy.

"Nice to meet you," Zuko waved from the bed.

"I'll be downstairs dear," the grandmother said flatly before closing the door behind her as Katara fell into her pillow to muffle her scream.

"Oh no, shit shit shit," Katara jumped out of the bed as she wasn't wearing pants under her baggy tee as she grabbed a pair of jeans to throw on under as Zuko was confused.

"Your grandmothers in town?" Zuko asked.

"Apparently, I didn't know," Katara whined as she brushed her wavy hair.

"She's old school, like you marry at 18 and start a family old school," Katara told him quickly.

"But with her same logic I shouldn't date in high school because it's distracting," she gulped a little.

"She raised me and Sokka while dad was in the navy, she's my mother's mom," she explained a little more as Zuko nodded slowly as he was wearing sweats when he got out of the bed.

"So no mentioning the fight?" He smiled a little pulling his hood off.

"Don't you dare," Katara gasped.

"Or my record?"

"That wouldn't be smart if you want her to like you," Katara crossed her arms frowning as Zuko went to the bathroom to put his jeans from the day before back on.

"Hey, dude," Zuko spun her around and held her hands gently seeing her panicking.

"Don't call me dude when I have hickies on my thighs from you," Katara said flatly.

"Happy birthday," he kissed her forehead gently and Katara paused for a moment.

Her eyes fluttered closed and she rested her forehead against his shoulder with a deep sigh. She smiled breathed a small laugh at him shaking her head.

"Thanks dude," she smiled hugging him as Zuko smiled holding her tightly.

-

"Hey sorry I didn't know you were coming gran gran," Katara ran down the stairs as Zuko was still sleepy with one of her headbands pushing his thick hair back getting annoyed with it in his eyes.

"Nice hair," Sokka smiled amused at him.

"Says you ponytail," Zuko rubbed his eyes tiredly.

"Why are you here? Why didn't you call me?" Katara hugged her grandmother as Hakoda was making them breakfast, Suki walked down the stairs and saw everyone, she slowed down wide eyes as she hid behind Zuko hoping to not be spotted.

"It was suppose to be a surprise, I would never miss my granddaughters birthday," kanna hugged her back happily. "You've grown so much, what happen to your cheek dear?"

"Oh Sokka and I were wrestling and I fell on the floor," Katara touched the bruise on her cheek.

"Sokka you know to not be so rough with your little sister," she scowled at the boy as Hakoda smiled a little shaking his head.

"She hit first," Sokka mumbled.

"So I planned the day with you and I for your birthday, I thought we could go down to the mall and go shopping and get lunch together, your father just wants us home for dinner later," kanna smiled holding Kataras hands gently.

Zuko perked up a little at that, he pursed his lips as he sat at the table with Suki and Sokka.

"Yea that sounds great gran," Katara beamed at her happily as Hakoda put a present on the table, wrapping his arm around his daughter and kissed her head.

"Happy birthday Katara," Hakoda smiled at her as Katara blushed embarrassed that all eyes were on her.

"Did you get her anything?" Suki teased the only other person that wasn't part of the family.

"I actually had the day planned for her, and yea I got a gift," Zuko smiled a little but Sokka looked at him confused.

"So you're not doing the plans anymore?" Sokka asked.

"Nah, she should spend time with her grandma, I know you guys don't see her often, I'll probably head home after breakfast," Zuko shrugged it off as he went on his phone.

"What were the plans? A picnic?" He snorted and Suki saw Zuko was trying to cancel the tickets he bought.

"Go down to the city, little shopping and I got us tickets to the aquarium in the city," Zuko blushed as he didn't want Katara to hear.

"The new one that opened? That's impossible to get into, they're always sold out," Suki gasped.

"I know a guy," he smiled.

"She's been talking about it because you can actually touch some of the animals there and there's a part that's under ground and a glass tunnel under the water, I did some research into it," Zuko explained a little disappointed but looked over seeing Katara catching up with her grandmother.

"It's whatever, we can go another day," he told them. He pursed his lips when he saw the tickets were non refundable... Suki glanced over and saw, she felt a little guilty seeing he was more disappointed than he let on.

"Hey why don't you and I go pick Aang up and see if we can get a third ticket, one of my girls on the volleyball team is working there," Suki nudged him as Sokka went to go get some French toast.

"What?" Zuko raised a brow.

"I saw man, let's not waste those tickets, that's a good couple bucks I'm guessing," Zuko motioned to his phone.

"I mean..." he was hesitant.

"You said You were just going to go home after anyways," she tilted her head to the side smirking.

"Why not Toph?" Zuko frowned.

"Oh yea go ahead and send her a text to ask, ask if she wants to go to an aquarium," Suki nodded getting up as Zuko blinked realizing what he said.

"Alright fair point,"
