The room Flora had left me in was an upgrade from my former room. Before I'd been in the unspecialized dorms and now, I was in the Ice Building towers. My room was designed to help develop and heighten the Icanai powers within me.
There was a fireplace in the front of the room with blue flames coiling from it and as I passed by it, I felt the warmth from it and sighed in relief. I wouldn't freeze in here; I would just have to master my abilities to keep me warm while using the specialization that was chosen for me.
A mirror in the corner caught my eye. It was a silver color with a matching armoire next to it. Peeking into the armoire, I saw that there were the ceremonial Icanai clothing in here along with other articles of clothing in the colors of the Icanai. The drab clothes I'd brought from the unspecialized dorms looked terribly out of place among the beauty of these.
My attention was brought back to the mirror as I shut the armoire door. The silver along the sides of the mirror were sparkling as if it was truly winter and the sun was shining on them, revealing their true beauty.
"This is immaculate." I whispered softly to myself. I then traced the delicate icicles along the edges of the mirror, and I felt the corners of my lips perk up as the icicles left the mirror to perch on my fingers. I brought one up so I could examine it closer.
Up close the icicle refused to melt, instead it remained in its frozen glory as it continued to shimmer on my finger.
"Am I keeping you cold?" I wondered aloud. "Are you answering to the Icanai within me?" as if it actually heard me, the icicle twitched before another icicle took form next to it. "Woah." This was incredible and I could most definitely get used to playing with ice.
Who needed fire anyways.
A few hours later, I heard a knock on my door. As I was busy in front of the fireplace with my frozen fire, I only called out that the knocker could enter.
Flora waltzed in now wearing a white tunic with a pair of ice blue trousers while her feet were stuffed into a pair of white boots.
I watched as she came closer to me but continued to keep my hands busy with the fire in front of me. "There's no point in hiding the fact you're an Icanai now is there?"
"There isn't." she replied, sitting on the sofa behind me. "Are you making progress?" she gestured to the fire.
I huffed. "I put the fire out so I could have a fresh start and that was fun in itself. Who knew it'd be so hard to put out a frozen fire?" Flora laughed softly as she listened to me. "But once I remembered some of the basics we learned before, I sent a small flurry and it put it out."
"Similar to the flurry you sent at Zachariah yesterday?"
Hearing his name caused my hands to clench and a spark of the frozen fire spat out at me, landing on my feet.
"Ouch!" I yelped, jumping up while screaming. "Flora!"
Flora didn't make a move to put out the fire on my pants. She only raised her eyebrows at me, a silent question which could also be a silent demand. She wasn't going to help me. No, I would have to do this on my own and quickly as I felt she had contained the fire enough so it wouldn't spread but was going to make me put it out.
