Women. That's all I knew growing up. Their different sizes and body types and races and colors and specialities. Thirty-six years ago, in 2021, rumors were spread that men were going extinct because of the dying out Y chromosome. Turned out to be false because apparently other species survived with different sexes without the Y chromosome determining their gender. While the Y chromosome would die out; men would not. Well, they were wrong. With wars and famine, men are now gone.

It's 2057 and I've only heard about men growing up. They were the past and women are the future.

We've done fairly well I would say. We have revised the government. There is peace among nations. There is a booming economy and many travelers who cross cultures. I am definitely proof of that. My mom is Brazillian and my other mom is Japanese. But I will get to them later.

Right now I am simply riding my bike around my smallish town. It's one of my favorite activities. Turning to my right I see our favorite market. They sell the absolute best produce. There are golden apples, square watermelons, dragonfruit, mango (which I don't care for) and the best blueberries. Of course I catch two of the shop cashiers kissing. I know they are dating and so madly in love. And why shouldn't they be? They are two amazing girls who deserve happiness and have a strong connection. Even stronger it seems when they are sucking face like that.

I shake my head smiling at them. PDA is very common around here, but I don't pay attention. Everyone here knows everyone and we are closer that way. I'm only 17 and I can't imagine growing up any differently. I live close to a forest and I love hiking there. Sometimes I even pretend to talk to the animals! There's this one deer that I see often. I know it's the same one because I swear he stares right back at me with that broken and crooked antler. He stands further from the rest, and I can only guess because they don't accept him with his crooked antler.

Our small town is perfectly full with 27, 831 women. Ashland is my home in Oregon. We are a lovely town with hidden art gems everywhere. We even work to fight against crimes involving wildlife! My best friend is an amazing artist. She paints the trees, and animals. But most importantly and famously she paints women. She paints black, white, asian, hispanic, african, fat, skinny, curvy, imperfectly perfect beautiful women. It's common to see these paintings around town, but she is famous for them. This friend just happens to be my sister. The one I'm heading over to meet right now.
