The Special Gift

The Big News:

It was a cold windy day in Cleveland

Hopesville was a town that didn't have many people

that lived there.

It was Monday December, 23,2001

There was an 11year old girl named Mariah Cole. She lived with her mom because her dad was in the army.

That night mariah's mom called her downstairs and,.said sweety guess what?

Mariah said what is it Mommy?

Her mom said daddy's coming home!

Mariah started jumping up and down!

She was so excited that her dad was coming home

She hadn't seen her dad in 9 months!

Mariah was so excited!

Mariah went back up stairs and she was sitting in her room thinking how exciting it would be to see her dad come home!She decided she wanted to get her dad a special gift! A gift that he could take with hint where ever he went!

So that he would know she was with him No matter what!

"The Next Morning On Christmas Eve!"

Mariah was up thinking about what she wanted to get her dad as the special gift!

But she couldn't decide what thoe.

She figured it.She had been working on it all day.

Finally she was finished it was wrapped in a Ruby Red box sitting under there old beat up Christmas tree!

Mariah was so "excited "that her dad was coming home!

That Christmas Eve Night!

Joseph mariah's dad got into a plane crash at 11:37 Christmas Eve Night.... Joseph plane had been high jacked by to black men.

The two men shot the pilot and his assistant..There was No one to drive it so they crashed!

That Christmas Morning Mariah was so excited she woke up extra early to see if her dad was hone and when she ran downstairs. All she seen was her mom sitting on the couch crying.

Mariah walks over to her mom and ask Mommy what's wrong!

It's christmas your supposed to be happy.Her mom grabs her hand and sits Mariah on the couch and says sweetie I'm afraid Daddy won't be coming home. Mariah's eyes began to water.

Mariah said why isn't Daddy coming home.

Her mom says sweetie he died last night in a plane crash.

Mariah said he can't die I had the perfect gift for him.

Mariah was very upset. Mariah just couldn't believe he was gone.

That gift remained where it was at. Mariah never touched or moved it because it was daddy's special gift that he never got!
