Maya's POV
He's back. I can't believe that after two years, he's back. I look over to Riley who is just as shocked as I am. Then I look over at Farkle who looks like he's gonna faint or something.
"Welcome back Mr. Friar." Mr. Matthews says
"Thank you sir." Lucas replies and takes a seat in the back of the classroom
It's been two years. Everything is different. Riley is still quirky, but Farkle turned her more into a nerd. Farkle I'm pretty sure gets picked on, but he won't let Riley and I help him and his style hasn't changed. I'm still broken, still a rebel, and apparently "popular" but I really don't want to be, I love my friends.
"May I be excused?" Riley asked
"Yes riley" Mr. Matthews said
"And Maya?" She added
"Yes" Mr. Matthews sighed and faced the chalkboard again
Riley drags me out of my seat and into the hallway.
"What's up" I said coolly
"What's up? Lucas is back!" Riley exclaimed
"I know, I can't believe it" I mumbled
"What r we gonna do, u know he's like rich now, and I still hate him for moving" Riley said
"I know, me too. We just avoid him. Got it?" I said
"Ok, we tell Farkle later, he kinda looks like he's gonna pass out" Riley said
"Yea" I laughed and we walked back into the classroom

"What is this?" I asked
"It's supposed to be lunch" Riley said
"Yea but, what is it?" I said looking at the blob of gray on my plate
"Yea, I don't know" Farkle said and we laughed
Just then Lucas walked into the cafeteria. All the girls drooled over him, the boys wanted to hang with him, you know same old same old. He looked around the cafeteria and spotted us. Crap. I look at Riley and she looks nervous. We haven't talked to him in two years, and we don't want to.
"Hey" Lucas said
"Uh hi" Riley said
"Yea hi" I said
"Hey" Farkle said
"Uh...can I sit with u guys?" Lucas asked
"No because u might just get up and leave us without telling us and not come back until two years later and pretend like everything's fine." I said coldly
"Look Maya, I'm sorry ok." Lucas said
"Yea yea yea, I've heard it all before." I said
"Riley, Farkle, u don't hate me right?" Lucas asked
Riley and Farkle looked at each other, then looked back at Lucas.
"Lucas, u left us." Riley said sadly
"And u didn't even tell us" Farkle finished
"And we hate u" I said standing up
"Maya-" Riley tried to calm me down
"No, Riley. I can't forgive him." I said and left the cafeteria

"Maya please go to class." Farkle said
"No" I said
"Come on please, UR gonna get detention again" Riley pleaded
"No, I don't want to" I whined
"Maya, is this just because Of Lucas?" Farkle asked
"No" I lied
"Maya" Riley said
"Ok fine it is. He's in my next class." I said
"Maya, please" Riley begged
"Fine." I mumbled
"Yay! Let's go, I'll walk u." Riley said
"Im coming too!" Farkle yelled and we laughed
We walked down the hallway to my math class. Lucas is in this class and Farkle and Riley have the same class together, so I'm gonna be all alone.
"Riley-"
"Go" Riley said pointing to the door
"Bye, have fun!" Farkle said
"Shut up" I said
I opened the door and sat down in my usual seat. Rebel sat behind me, as usual.
"Hey Hart" Rebel said
"Hey" I said
"So I heard that UR old friend is back" He said
"Ugh, don't remind me I hate him." I said
"Ha I know, you've told me probably like a THOUSAND times" Rebel said
I laughed.
"Really? Well I'll say it again. I-" someone's voice cut me off
"Is this seat taken?" Lucas asked
"Yeah" I lied
"Really, by who?" Lucas asked
"Nobody" I said and Rebel laughed
"I'm sitting here" Lucas said putting his books down
"Ugh" I said
"Maya, why do u hate me?" Lucas asked
"Didn't I already tell u at lunch" I said
"Maya, I want to help u. I want to be best friends again." Lucas said
"U want to help me? Lucas I don't need ur stupid money!" I said offended
"Maya I didn't mean it like that" Lucas said
"Really? Then how did u mean it?" I asked
"I just want to help u Maya, u need help, I talked to Mr. Matthews and-"
"What?!? Who the hell do u think u are? I don't need ur money and I don't need ur help!" I yelled
I spotted a full water bottle on the edge of my desk and picked it up. I unscrewed the cap.
"Maya don't-" Rebel said standing up
I poured the water on Lucas's head. He looked up at me heartbroken. I kinda felt bad, but after what he did to me, I don't really care.
"Maya Hart! Principal's office right now!" The teacher yelled
I sighed and walked out the door of the classroom.
