After relaxing for awhile, am able to forget my worries at the moment.
I know I'll have to face the reality soon, but I don't have the nerve to do it now. I'm afraid it'll break me.

After hours of comfortable silence, Nick stood up and announce that we've to get going.

As much as I want you to enjoy the beautiful nature, we've to get back to work and think of an alternative in case Mr Hardin refuse to make the deal.

I nod in agreement and followed him into his car.

He drives us to the company and excuse himself immediately. I took it as a clue to start looking for other companies that will be of use to us.

After hours of working, I still couldn't decide which one to choose, so I might have to leave the decision to Nick.

I arranged my stuff into my mini bag and decided to call it a day.

On getting home, I met Alie at the hallway crying profusely as she ran her hands in her hair.

Alie?
What's wrong with you?

She couldn't whisper a word as she choke on her tears.

I run my hands through her hair in a smoothing manner to calm her down.

It's fine, you don't have to talk now. Let get you inside.

I unlocked the door as we both enter the living room.

Sit here, I'll get you some water. I instructed.

I went into the kitchen to get her a glass of water, preparing myself for the long Alie crying episode.

"Here you go" I hand over the water to her.

So tell me,what happened?

It's Nelson. She cried even harder.

I moved closer to her as I pat her back, encouraging her to continue.

What happened to Nelson?

He lied to me Sarah, he used me

Shush call down. Now stop crying and tell me what happened.

He got close to me on purpose,he used me to get closer to Kate. He cheated on me, she continues to cry.

How is that possible?
He first met you at his house party I invited you to and who is Kate?

Turns out he knew me before then. And Kate is always competing with me at the industry so this is probably another competition to her.

I still don't understand, why would he try to use you to get closer to someone you don't even like?

I don't know, all I know is I caught them together.

Did you allow him to explain himself or you just assume everything?

I left the moment I saw them. I mean, what was I supposed to do when I saw the sinester smile Kate gave me.

Did he even try to talk to you?

He ran after me but I was too fast. He probably wants to feed me lies anyway or maybe worse, tell me why he used me.

Alie, don't you think you're jumping to conclusion here?
I'm not saying you don't know what you saw, but maybe it was a misunderstanding because I've known Nelson long enough to know he's not that type of guy and he even have good reputation.

So you would rather believe what people says about him than your own best friend?
I said he used me, she begin to raise her tone.
I should have known when he kept asking me questions about that idiot and asking about our relationship. she breaks down again.
