I watched the cars go by. One by one they zoomed past the window. I glanced into the side view mirror closest to me. What glared back at me was a 19 year old girl with dark brown hair and retro sunnies who had no clue what the world was to offer her. I look over at my mother who has her hands come on and off the steering wheel as she yaps about something that she most likely finds beneficial for me to hear. Little did she know I wasn't paying attention at all.
"I hear the dorm rooms are great. Plenty of space and not too many roommates, no more than three. There are even personal bathrooms in each dorm. Isn't that exciting, Emma?" She said.
"Hmm?" I asked.
"Emma honey," my mother sighed, "college is going to be fun, I promise. You will meet new people, try new things, it's all apart of growing up, you get the chance to find your own path like I did. Unlike me you already have a jump start. You already know what you are going to be. You are going to be the most amazing writer anyone could hope for. That says a lot."I smiled to make her happy. The truth was I had no clue who I was, who I was going to become. 'I have always said I want to be writer but is that truly going to be what I pursue?' I used to think.
We drove up to a large campus, scattered with various buildings. "Well Hun," my mother smiled, "welcome to your new home."
