In The Hallways (Felicia x Babymouse)

Chapter 1 - Time For School!

It was a sunny day in the unnamed town. The animal people were going about their day, shopping, working, talking, and for those still learning in school. That's where our story begins, with our little mouse girl named Babymouse!

It was just another boring school day, learning things I won't remember, seeing all the same things, even my daydreams were getting boring (when they're not getting me sent to detention). Why is my life so boring? Where's the glamor, excitement, adventure? Is this really all to my life? My worthless ordinary life.

I looked at the clock hoping the time would go by faster, but of course, it stays the same. Only if I were telekinesis I could push the clock a little forward.

While Babymouse was focusing all her (extremely limited) brainpower to move the clock forward; she failed to notice her hippo-type teacher calling her name with an expression of annoyance growing with every time she said her name. Oh Babymouse, too lost in her self-fulfilled fantasies.

I was snapped out of my daydream by a loud strict voice yelling my name "BABYMOUSE!" Can you please take these papers to the front office or am I interrupting your scheduled dozing off?" She looked more than annoyed with me, there was nothing more than I could but sink in my chair and mumble an embarrassed "yes ma,am."

My friends had a look of exasperation mixed with worry, while other students snickered and chatted among themselves.

My teacher handed me three fully packed documents (pretty heavy too!) and rushed me out the door. I was a bit surprised they asked me for the job (it's not I like I asked). I'm just the weird girl who freezes in place all time. Well, it feels nice to be asked for help (as long as it's not too hard of course), it feels nice to be needed.

Geez, these hallways look so endless, I feel like if I make a wrong turn I'll hit a dead end. The world around me began to darken in deep blues and blacks. I heard a faded "Waka, Waka, Waka", from far away. I decided that it would be a good idea if I pick up the pace.

Oh dear, it seems our little Babymouse has found herself in a heavily Pac-Man-inspired delusion, running the halls wondering what's real or not. On the other side, in the women's bathroom, an orange strongly built cat with an expensive fashion taste was talking up a storm. Chatting, gossiping, and causing a ruckus. A ruckus that they were planning to take outside the bathroom, until....

"SMACK!"

It seems while both girls were caught up in their own personal fantasies; they failed to notice the mouse girl running in the halls and the catgirl opening the bathroom door.

I left the bathroom and felt a forced get hit back from behind the door; a bunch of papers went flying in the air. I rolled my eyes at the mere stupidity of this creature "Maybe if you paid attention more you wouldn't get hit by bathroom do-". I stopped my cleverly put-together insult when I saw a couple of red droplets hit the floor. I looked down, trying to find who I hit with the door. The papers started to calm down and decided to reveal my victim.

My heart stopped when I saw who it was "Babymouse?"

Aw yes, the age-old rivalry. Cat and mouse. It seems our prom queen dream "Felicia Furrypaws", is being confronted by her childhood punching bag (metaphorical of course). With a bloody standing point no less. Will Felicia be able to control her animal urges? Will Felicia and Babymouse become friends or maybe even lovers, but most importantly will Babymouse ever deliver those papers to the head office?!
