My neck has never felt so much pain until I wake up. My body laid across the cold, wooden floor; the light of the moon shines my eyes causing them to open.

God, what happen?

I sit up and press my hand on the side of my neck. Oh no, now the memory is coming back to me! Jack bit me and I passed out. Even the taste of vomit fills in the inside of my mouth.

Ew.

I look around and see that I am alone. Darn it, I wish Jack would have stay a little longer. There's still so much I want to ask him.... But the thought got erase from my mind when I hear my phone buzzing on my bed. That must be Mona.

I grab my phone, lay on the bed and answer it.

"Maybe I'm an idiot," she starts out after I say hello, "maybe you just have a bad memory or something... BUT WHERE ARE YOU?"

"Huh?"

"Oh God, I knew this would happen! You and me. Me and you. Here. Now. Today! And hurry up, it's frickin' cold out here!" She hangs up after that. My eyes widen a little after knowing what she means. Tonight is the investigation.

* * *

Mona text me to come to the abandon side of town. It's just a street with closed stores such as a bakery I use to go and the salon most girls would go to when prom comes around. They all shut down in fear due to a killer killing innocent lives around here. Sort of makes me sad coming down here.

"RAWR!" I scream and jump as a figure jumps in front of me.

The person laughs, "you made that too easy."

"Mona! What are you doing?" I straighten myself up.

"Oh calm down, that's for making me wait." She turns to face the old bakery. "This is where Fang came down last week. I think I messed up because he went into a house and I can't find one yet."

"Are you serious?" I hiss at her. "Do you know that there might be lurkers or something freaky out here?"

"Oh shut up you worry butt." She starts walking off.

"Hey, wait for me!" I walk alongside with her. We travel down the worn down road slowly.

"So, where are we going?" I ask.

"We go to the most suspicious place we can find! That's how investigation start, right?"

"I don't think that's a good idea." I remember Jack's warning. He said not to go to large buildings or in alleys and knowing Mona, I know that's where we might end up at. The only problem is trying to convince her how to not go to those places.

Wait, did he say not to go to as in in the large buildings, or to go near them?

"Ooo, lookie!" I turn to see what Mona is pointing at. There is light inside a large building. It's an old warehouse.

"We're not going in there," I tell her.

"Don't be a scary cat. We came here to snoop on Fang remember?"

"Yes, but how do we know that he's in there?"

"We're just going to have to find out." She takes a step forward and I stop her by grabbing her arm with both hands. "Will you stop being like this?" She wiggles her arm out of my grip. "If anything seems sideways, we will just run, okay?"

"What if we can't run?"

She rolls her eyes, "I have a backup plan." She pulls out a small pistol out of her boot.

I gasp. "Why -"

"Look, I know coming here would be shady, especially coming down to these parks." She continues to walk to the warehouse. I don't think I'll be able to convince her now.
