I ran as fast as I could through the thick forest. Branches were hitting my face left and right and I could hardly breath. I focused my attention on Lexa running in front of me, who was running at a super speed while I tried not to trip and fall. She must be a pro at running through forests I thought. I felt myself start to slow down as it was getting harder and harder to run as my legs felt like they were on fire.

"Don't slow down Clarke!" Lexa yelled to me. I grunted in response and pushed myself to keep going. We were weaving in and out of the trees and I hoped we were close to Tondc. Suddenly, I tripped over a tree root that was sticking out of the ground and fell to the ground. I screamed in pain as I felt claw marks rake down my back. I tried to roll over but the panther was massive and made it very difficult to move. Before it could bite down on my neck, I squirmed wildly and managed to turn myself enough to kick at the beasts underside. It yowled in pain but again attempted to bite me. I shut my eyes and prepared for the worse but it never came. The weight of the panther was suddenly gone and I opened my eyes to see a blur of a sword pass by. I could hear the beast thrashing around but I couldn't lift my head. I tried to slow my breathing and not think about the searing pain on my back.

"Oh my god Clarke!" Lexa suddenly yelled as she came back over to where I was lying on the ground.

"Did you kill it?" I asked. Her face came into my view as she towered over me. I saw her eyes roam my body and I felt her hands gently feel me for wounds.

"Yeah Clarke, I got him." Lexa said, concern evident in her voice. She looked so so worried but all I could think about was my pain.

"Good." I breathed a sigh of relief and I closed my eyes. Lexa's hands touched my face and I could feel her hands rest on both of my cheeks. I opened my eyes again to look at her.

"We need to get you to Tondc immediately." Lexa told me.

"I can't walk." I whispered. Lexa nodded her head and she maneuvered around me to put her arms under my back. I tensed as she accidentally touched the claw marks and I held in my scream. Lexa of course noticed this and she looked at me apologetically. In one swift movement, she managed to lift me off the ground as gently as she could and she carried me in her arms towards Tondc. I wrapped my arms around her neck to help make it easier and I rested my head on her chest. I could hear her pounding heart, which seemed to be frantic. I could feel Lexa start to move faster and I let my eyes shut. Even with the soaring pain all over my body, I couldn't help but think about how safe I felt in her arms. I started to hear the people yelling "Heda" rather quickly and I realized we were back in Tondc. Thank god, I didn't know how much longer I could stay awake. Lexa laid me down on the bed in the healers hut and I could hear her yelling at the people around us.

"She has severe wounds on her back. We were attacked by a panther on our way back from our trip but it is no longer alive. I need someone to go back out there and retrieve the carcass and our weapons and bag that was dropped." I opened my eyes to see a few guards leaving the hut and the healer was rushing around the tent, preparing some things. I turned my head to look at Lexa, who was focused on the healer.

"Hey." I mumbled. Lexa looked down at me and she smiled. I could sense her worry, no matter how hard she tried to mask it.

"You're going to be okay Clarke. Your safe now." She told me. I rested my hand on top of hers, where it was resting on my waist. I gave her hand a hopeful squeeze and smiled back. We just stared at each other, gazing into each other's eyes.

"I need to turn her onto her stomach, but first we need to get her shirt off." The healer said. Lexa nodded at him and then turned her attention back to me.

"Is that okay with you?" She asked. I replied with a yes and both Lexa and the healer helped me to sit up. The pain was agonizing and all I wanted to do was pass out. I grabbed the ends of my shirt and started to lift my shirt, but it was no use when I screamed in pain from using my muscles. Immediately, Lexa took control and grabbed the ends from me and she slowly took my shirt off. It still hurt, but it wasn't as bad compared to me trying to get it off. I could see that it was coated in my blood and looked to be a whole brand new color.
