Wings of Fire :: The Underneath

Prologue

Cirrus looked off from the cliffside, icy breath seeping from their nostrils. "There has never been any sightings of the Unseen Islands tribes for thousands of years, how am I supposed to believe you?" She scowled, her tail lashed and dragged along the ground. "Please trust me! I know I saw it, I know I did-" Trango whined but was cut off by the in-denial CloudWing. "Shut up. I hear something." Cirrus paused. The two looked around, the silence occasionally abrupted by the crashing of waves against the cliff. Sounds of feet treading against the ground and the rustling of bushes had slowly overwhelmed Trango to the point he bolted into the forest, fleeing. "Come back here you pathetic excuse of a dragon, you can't just leave me over here!" Cirrus flared her wings and chased after him. Cirrus dashed across shallow streams and leaped over fallen trees, starting to lose sight of Trango. The CloudWing called out again "Stop running! It was probably a fox or something!" But Trango already disappeared. Cirrus sighed, having a moment to breathe before suddenly being tackled by a large bulky dragon. 

She tried to flail her venom-tipped tail upwards but the unfamiliar dragon had already held it down with their foot. The sinister dragon glared down at them, the long antennae connected to their head right infront of Cirrus' snout. She grasped it, and attempted to bite the antennae. the tip had flashed uncontrollably and disoriented her before she could do so. The AnglerWing that held her down sat up and grabbed a dart from their neck pouch. Cirrus realized she was being apprehended by a giant, long tail that wrapped around her body like a snake. "Trango!" She called out, her voice cracked a bit from being jabbed in the neck with a blow dart. 

The AnglerWing dragged the unconscious dragon with their tail, the body of the CloudWing sweeping along the cliff surface. They grabbed them with his arms and then threw them off the cliffside and into the deep and violent ocean.
