The lush green forest expanded in front of them. A warm breeze drifted in front of them, buffeting their pelts. Sparta and Minka have only been walking for a while, Sparta feeling free, not being cooped up every day, eating disgusting food. She had freedom. Minka looked uneasy. She probably never dreamed to live in the wild. As they padded through the undergrowth, Sparta was beginning to grow hungry. They haven't eaten since they left. The black cat scanned her surroundings. Just trees, ferns, grass, moss, dirt. No sign of movement besides the rustle of leaves.

"We've got to find a place to shelter" Sparta said.

"Right. I was beginning to worry that we would be walking all day" Minka said.

Sparta sat down and wrapped her tail neatly over her paws. The black-white she-cat halted, then sat beside her. ''Also, we need to hunt" Sparta said, licking her whiskers.

"But do we know how?" Minka questioned.

Narrowing her eyes, Sparta tried to remember if she had ever hunted before. Yes! My dreams! Of course! Sparta faced her friend. "I do" she replied.

"H-how? You've never been in the forest before" . Minka tipped her head to one side.

"My dreams. Sometimes I can hear soft whisperings telling me how to position myself, and sometimes I've actually caught something".

"Does it work in the real world?"

"Maybe. I'll try"

Sparta stood up and padded forward a little and scented the air. She pricked her ears. Tick tick tick, came a noise. Sparta jolted her head to the right, ears angling in the direction of the noise. She took a long scent, trying to distinguish what was ahead of her. Familiar, she had already scented it before. Mouse! Minka was watching as Sparta positioned herself in a hunting crouch, gliding across the undergrowth without making a noise. The mouse was trying to bite into a nut, unaware of the stalking cat.

"Concentrate!" Minka whispered, loud enough for Sparta and  the mouse to hear. The mouse snapped its tiny head up and peered at Sparta. It dropped the nut and darted to safety, but the she-cat was too fast for it. She lunged at it, claws unsheathed. She grabbed the mouse and gave it the killing bite. She brought it back in her jaws. "Sorry!" Minka sqealed.

"Ish ohkay" Sparta said, unable to speak properly.

She place the tiny body on the ground, and they ate it gratefully. When finished, they gave themselfves a quick wash, and padded on with the journey to find shelter for their new home.
