(Lincoln's POV)

"Remember everything I said." I told Vick as I pulled my bag out of the trunk.

"I remember. Harvey remembers. We remember. It'll all go as planned. Don't worry."

I sighed. "Still can't believe I agreed to this."

"At least your getting something out of it." Vick said.

"I guess."

"I would say I'll call you and let you know how it all goes but....."

"But they're dragging my ass out to a tropical island with no cell service and no internet."

"It'll be okay. If anything major happens, I will personally steal and fly a helicopter to wherever you are and pick you up."

I picked up my bag and headed inside.

Obviously we were taking our private jet so there was no rush to actually get on board.

What did that mean?

It meant that I took my f*cking time walking to the plane.

Attendants were waiting to take my bag when I got there. I handed it over and climbed up the steps to go inside the jet.

Everyone was already there.

"There he is!" Nathan exclaimed.

I said nothing and took a seat beside Julie.

"Was starting to wonder if you had chickened out." Landen said.

I rolled my eyes. "Wanted to really enjoy the scenery on my way here."

Julie gave me a chuckle and patted my arm.

"It'll be okay, Linc."

We arrived hours later to some tropical f*cking island with nothing but about fifteen buildings on it and a place to land the jet.

"This island has everything we could possibly need for the week. If we happen to run out of anything then it is just a thirty minute boat ride to the main island." Mom explained as we got off the jet.

A man greeted us with a big smile on his face and handed mom an envelope. The envelope contained the keys to our.....huts.

I was thankful that I was given the key for the one of the two huts farthest away from the others.

I was thankful until I got there.

I was unpacking my bag when there was a knock on the door.

"It's open." I called, expecting mom or one of my brothers to walk.

I didn't f*cking expect Priscilla to walk in.

"Lincoln," she smiled widely. "our huts are side-by-side. What a coincidence?"

"Oh I'm so sure it's a coincidence." I mumbled.

She plopped herself down on my bed and continued smiling at me.

"What are you doing here?"

"Didn't your mom tell you? She invited me, my sister, and my parents to tag along. Since we're all going to related through marriage one day soon isn't it nice to start vacationing together early?"

I sighed. "Please get off the bed."

She stood up and took that as an invitation to move closer to me.

Thank goodness Julie came in at that moment.

"Linc, put on your swim trunks and come swim with me." She said.

She gave me slight wink and I instantly understood. She was going play referee the whole vacation. She was going to make sure Priscilla didn't get to spend much time with me alone.

"Sure thing."

I grabbed a pair out of my bag and moved to the bathroom to change. I came out to see that Priscilla was gone, but Julie was still there.

"The f*ck?" I asked.

"I had no idea either. She kept it from all of us. Was afraid you'd find out and then not come."

"And her hut is magically beside mine and they both happen to be the farthest away from all the others?!"

"They think that if you spend a week together on this island sleeping this close that.....things will happen and then a wedding will be planned. Don't you know that the two of you are a match made in-"

"Hell? Yeah, I'm aware."

"Never fear though. I will play as your buffer. Gotta look out for my girl, Amaryllis." She said making me smile.

"Thanks."

"Of course. I'm rooting for you two."

We got down to the water just in time for Priscilla to come running out in the skimpiest bikini a person could find. It left very very little imagination and I was....grossed out to say the least.

She gave me a sultry smile and held out a bottle of sunscreen.

"Mind putting some on for me?"

"Yeah, I do mind." I said, turning and walking further into the ocean.

"Playing hard to get just makes me want you more." She called out.

"Fac ut vivas."
(Get a life.)

I floated in the water partially hoping that I'd be pulled further into the ocean and possibly lost at sea.

Being on an island for with over eight people that you can't stand tends to make you think that way. Julie was the only reason why I wasn't fully hoping that would happen. If I got lost at sea then she'd be all alone with them.

Us sane individuals had to stick together. It's the only way we'd survive without killing anyone.

(Amaryllis's POV)

I was sitting on my couch watching a movie when my phone rang.

"Hello?"

"We rendezvous tomorrow at five." A voice whispered.

"Vick? Why are you whispering?"

He let out an annoyed sigh. "Amaryllis, we're on a secret mission. It's important to whisper. What if others are listening?"

"I can guarantee you that no one is listening."

"You're no fun. Harvey at least whispered back and played along for my amusement."

"Where are we rendezvousing?"

"Your shop? I'll pick you up."

"At five?"

"Yes."

"Alright."

"Would it be too much to ask that you wear all black?"

"So that I'll blend in with the night?"

"Now you're getting it! I'll see you then. Don't be late." He said before quickly hanging up.

I shook my head. "I live here, how can I be late?"
