Vio sat under a tree, far from the commotion his other three counterparts were making. Of course, the violet Link was reading a book.. As he does. Reading took his mind off of everything that was happening outside the world of whatever he was reading.
"Blue, give Red his hat back!" Yup, that was Green.
"Make me!" That was definitely Blue.
"Guys, stop fighting!" Of course, that was Red.
"Don't be an asshole, Blue!" Green again.
"Immature idiots.." Vio mumbled to himself, continuing his book. He yawned, rubbing his eyes. His eyelids slowly closed, everything fading to black. Just before the closed, he felt an arm around his waist. Vio froze.
"Hey," a voice smirked. The bookworm looked upwards, coming face-to-face with none other than Shadow Link. "What do you want?" Vio muttered.
"You sure you want to know?~"
"I'm not sure."
"Well, I want your-"
"Shadow shut up, I'm reading."
"As usual.. Honestly, you're so boring~.." The purple haired Shadow fake-yawned.
"Not listening," replied Vio bluntly.
"What is it you're reading anyway?"
"That's none of your business."
"Fifty Shades of Grey?" Shadow smirked.
"Of course not!" Vio snapped.
"What then!?"
"The Hunger Games. Gosh, you're so stubborn."
"Says you~" Shadow taunted, resulting in Vio rolling his eyes again. Shadow Link tightened his arm around Vio's waist again. "Let go."
"Nah~" Shadow stuck his tongue out at him. "Hey, can I ask you something?"
"As long as it isn't stupid, go ahead.."
"Why do you isolate yourself from the others? Like, I get that you don't need them, but really, do you hold some sort of grudge against them or somethin'?"
"No, of course not.. I just prefer to be alone. Besides, it's rare for me to get away from all the noise and disruption they cause.."
"We're rather alike.. You're too good for them."
"Don't say that. I may be more clever, however, we're all equal.."
"That doesn't include me, of course.." The purple headed Link sighed. Vio felt a pang of guilt. "Don't put yourself down like that, you're just as good as the rest of us..even if you are..well..just our shadow.."
"Just a shadow? Wow, thanks, Vio." Shadow rolled his eyes. "Out of all of them, YOU had to be the one to say that.."
"I'm..I'm sorry.." Vio stuttered.
"Don't worry, traitor." Shadow muttered through gritted teeth. Vio flinched at this. He hated it when Shadow referred to him as a traitor. "Shadow, I.." He began, stuttering again. The purple Link despised this feeling of guilt..of remorse..
"Heh, I told you not to worry..it's fine. I guess I understand why you done what you done.." Shadow sighed. Vio half-smiled. "I'm glad you understand.. I've always felt horrible about it, you know.."
"Really?.."
"Yeah.." It was silent for a while and he pair just stared into the horizon. The sun was setting. Vio felt his eyelids droop again. Shadow chuckled, putting an arm around his shoulder. Vio's head rested upon Shadow's chest as he drifted off to sleep. "Sweet dreams, Vi.."
