                                         PROLOGUE

September 5,2012

Rockland hospital, Dehradun

So finally the wait was over!! After years of hardwork and dedication I HAVE BECOME A DOCTOR!!. And, what could be better than joining my Dad’s hospital as an Intern!

As I entered the hospital, I saw the whole staff of the Hospital was standing entrance of the hospital….

“ Welcome to the hospital DR.Viaan” said DR.Singh, the SR. DOCTOR of the hospital

“It’s really sweet of all of you that you are welcoming me in such a humble way!!” said I with a smile on my face

Then, Dr.Singh introduced me to the whole staff!

After that warm welcome I stepped into the hospital and that time I was so happy that even words were not enough to express my happiness! I called Ram Lal , the ward boy of the hospital to call all the patients of the hospital in the “Activity Area” so that I could introduce myself to all the patients!

Now, all the patients have reached the activity area but according to the list 1 patient was missing “ PATIENT NO. 124”!! So, I called Ram Lal and asked him that “ Who is patient no. 124 & where is he??”

For, atleast 2 mins. the ward boy stared at me and said “ Why do you want her to be here??? She’s actually a Freak!! Whoever goes I her room, she starts throwing things at him & that’s why we have given her a separate room !!

On hearing this reaction from Ram Lal I was literally very shocked!

“What’s her name” asked I 

“ Her name is “Shinail” And she is a very complicated case sir! No SCIENCE can cure her!! Said the ram lal

“Whatever she is! I just wanna meet her as I’ll personally invite her for the seminar

“Sir! She is an animal she can harm you so you shouldn’t go there!” said he

“OH SHUT UP Ram Lal!! How dare you to compare her with animals! She’s just a patient

 Nothing more than that! You better mind ur own business!” cried I in a loud tone

On this he said “OK” and agreed to show me shinail’s room!

And, when I reached there, I noticed that it was the only room in which lights were off!! As I opened the door I saw a small window through which the rays of the sun were coming ! She was sitting on her bed and was talking to herself… So, I started moving towards her……

And. suddenly something hit my head. I didn’t understood what happened that time! But, after few seconds I realized that it was her who threw that thing on me!!

Then, I turned “ON” the lights and felt the wetness of the blood over my head! Although it was very hurting but I simply ignored the pain & move towards her to talk.

Her face was covered by her flicks & and I was only able to see half of her face but when I saw her I had no words left to describe her beauty!

“Her hair was a rich shade of black! I flowed in waves to adorn her gloomy porcelain-like skin. Her eyes were framed by her long lashes. Her eyes were very charming and seemed to brighten the world! A straight nose, pink lips- she seemed the perfect picture of perfection. Had she smiled, the world would sigh with the contentment. Had she laughed, the world would laugh with her! And had she swept, the whole world want to comfort her! I was totally lost in her eyes!”

And, when I came out of her eyes I asked her that

“I called you downstairs in the activity center! Why didn’t you come there??”

“WAO, I threw that heavy piece of rock on you and still u want me to come there!!” said she in a low tone

“So is it a trick to keep all the people away from you???” I asked her

Shenail didn’t responded to my question so I thought that i should change the topic

“So with whom you were talking shenail??”

“ Amy” she said 

So with a great astonishment I asked her that who is AMY?? And where does he live??

To my this question I received an unexpected answer!!!!!

Suddenly, shenail started crying very loudly and I haven’t ever heard anyone crying so desperately!!!

It just only took a few seconds for the wardboys and nurses to reach in her room and they were taking her to the shock room!

I tried to stop them but they said that “ your father has given us special instructions for treating her!” and after saying this the all took her to the shock room and I couldn’t stop them!

Now, I could hear her cry from the shock room!! And my this experience was the “ WORST” experience that any doctor could have!!!!! So, I decided to go home and talk to my father about shenail!!

2:55 P.M.

AT HOME

After reaching home I talked to my father about her!!

“ Dad! Shenail is not an actual mental patient 

To this my dad was a bit confusing

“ SHENAIL” Who Shenail?”

“That room no. 124’s patient?”

“ OH, she is a very critical case! I have given the hospital some special instructions for her!”

“ Exactly dad! That’s what you shouldn’t do!” replied I 

“So, now you’ll tell me what to do & what not??? Huh..

“Ohh Dad! Why do you not understand me! I am just telling you that you shouldn’t treat her like the way you are treating dad!”

“ Viaan I couldn’t believe that you are arguing with your dad for a mental patient!”

“ Oh Come on Dad! That’s not right! I am just telling you that she don’t need shocks! You don’t even know her “IDENTITY”! you don’t even know about her past! She’s so indulge in her past that she can’t get out of her memories!! Dad she has lost her identity after coming here !! Do u even know about her past Dad???”

“ NO! I am a doctor not a councilor!! Why am I suppose to know these kind of things!!”

“So, How can you decide her treatment Dad??”

“ I am a doctor Viaan and I know what kind of treatment do these animals need!”

“ For God’s Sake Dad! Don’t call her an animal! She is just a patient who needs special attention !! Nothing more than that!

“ Just go to your room Viaan!! I don’t wanna talk with you anymore!!

My heart resisted but I followed his orders and went into my room!

I was still shivering internally on knowing my dad’s mentality about such people who have mental disabilities!

I was annoyed very much on knowing my dad’s view for shenail! But the question was that why is she here?? What has happened in her past?? And who is “ AMY??”

Maybe SHE HAS LOST HER IDENTITY OVER HERE!!!!!! 

The questions remained unanswered but a hope was lightened in me!! A Hope that i"ll cure her soon!! A hope that very soon SHE"ll AGAIN HAVE HER OWN IDENTITY!
