she quickly ran in front of the man and shoved him back, she was badly injured but she believed she could still deal with a single ruin guard. he was surprised, he has never received an ounce of sympathy since he was a child. he was always scolded by higher ups and targeted by people. her sudden urge to protect was uncommon. he knew she was badly injured but he wanted to see how this would play out.
she tried to attack the robot, but was to hurt to do any damage. she realized she would need her catalyst to aid her. she stunned the guard, then took her spear and stabbed it in the eye repeatedly until it shut off for good.
y/n slid off the ruin guard with her weapon, stumbling back, and falling to the floor. she passed out from a mix of fatigue and pain.
the man walked over to her, he could just use her for an experiment. or he could save her. it's not like him to act like this, but he was indebted to her. he didn't bring his sword with him so he was defenseless against that thing.
in the end he decided to save her. it might benefit him in the future..
