Real Love Always Finds a Way

It has been four years since Ash left the Kalos Region. The XYZ gang was forced to separate temporarily and go on different paths. Ash went back to Kanto to plan his next adventure, Serena left for Hoenn under Palermo's guidance to try coordinating in Pokémon Contests, while Clemont and Bonnie stayed in Lumiose City to use their journey experiences to further their goals.

What happened to the gang during the four years you may ask?

Ash Ketchum became a regional champion for both the Kanto and Alola regions respectively. Alongside his partner Pikachu, they continue to kick ass and strive to become Pokémon Masters. Ash gained a lot of recognition and built a reputation for himself in several regions for being the youngest regional champion to date and saving the world during occasions. He is now twenty years old.

Clemont, the Lumiose City Gym Leader and an aspiring inventor, eventually learned how to actually invent machinery and inventions that don't blow up. He overcame the flaws of his designs and became well known throughout Kalos for his clemontic inventions, such as the clemontic electrical shower and the Battle Clembot Mini. The Battle Clembot Mini became one of his most well-known inventions as it served as a robot that can evaluate Pokémon stats. One day, Clemont hopes that his inventions will be used worldwide in many different regions. He is now twenty-one years old. Oh, did I forget to mention that our favorite lemon-haired inventor has a girlfriend? ^o^

Clemont's little sister, Bonnie, a now 12-year-old girl, finally became a Pokémon trainer. She chose a Fennekin as her starter, just like one of her three role models, Serena Yvonne. She inherited her brother's Dedenne once she became a trainer and explored her home region with nobody else but Serena herself. During her second Kalos journey, Bonnie was collecting both gym badges and princess keys. She didn't make it to the Master Class that year, but she managed to make it to the top 8 in the Kalos League on her first attempt. Her team consists of Dedenne, Braixen, Tyrantrum, Florges, Blastoise, and a Gothorita. At the moment she stays with her brother at the Prism Tower. Maybe one day she will inherit the Lumiose Gym.

Finally, there is Serena Yvonne. While at the Hoenn Region, she participated in Pokémon Contests as a coordinator. While in the region, she befriended and traveled with two coordinators named May and Dawn. She attended the Grand Festival, but unfortunately lost in the finals to another fellow coordinator named Drew, who turned out to be May's boyfriend of three years. Serena eventually returned home to Kalos after a year in Hoenn. She reunited with Clemont and Bonnie during that time and reattempted to earn the title of Kalos Queen. Luckily for Serena, she managed to make it to the Master Class and defeat Aria, thus taking the Kalos Queen crown. After not being in contact with Ash for so long, Serena got over her crush on Ash (Or did she?) and started dating another teenager named Calem Xavier, who turned out to live in the same hometown as her. They have been dating for seven months so far. She is currently twenty years old.

Lumiose City, 11AM Kalos Central Time

"Come on Calem, hurry up!" Serena yelled out. Serena was a few feet in front of Calem as she was excitedly running towards the entrance of Prism Tower, the heart of Lumiose City.

"Slow down, Serena. You know... I'm not a very good runner!" Calem yelled back, his pace slowing down more.

Serena giggled. Calem reminded her of Clemont since they were both not athletic and couldn't run even if their lives depended on it. Regardless, she slowed down so her boyfriend could catch up to her.
