Beep! Beep! Beep!

".. M-Mm.."

Ring slowly opened her eyes at the sound of her alarm.

"W-What?!-" She suddenly shot up into a sitting position. She was back in her old bedroom. She slowly turned her head toward her desk, staring at the binder and textbooks that sat neatly in a stack.

She slowly lowered her gaze to the floor, to find Rei, tightly tucked away in a sleeping bag, with Juubey sleeping next to her, curled up in a ball.

".. This.. This is so bizarre.." Ring held her head. ".. Was that all just.. A dream?"

"H-Aaaaahh.." Rei slowly stretched, before opening her eyes. ".. Is it morning already?.. I thought it was Saturday.."

"I-It is.. I must have forgotten to turn off my alarm.." Ring anxiously laughed, hopping out of her bed and moving toward her alarm clock, flipping the switch to prevent it from ringing out again.

".. Ah.. Okay.." Rei slowly curled into a ball, nestling into her pillow.

".. Juubey.. You up?" Ring looked at the feline, wearily.

".. Hm.." Juubey softly exhaled, opening it's eyes. ".. Oh. Good morning, Ring Huo. Did you sleep well?" They asked, stretching as they slowly stood up.

".. Actually.. I feel like I haven't gotten any sleep at all.. I had the strangest nightmare.. There was this.. Giant wax witch.. And-.."

Ring's eyes flickered for a moment.

".. Wait a minute.. This.. This is all wrong.. Juubey, don't you feel that?"

"I am not sure what you are talking about, actually!" Juubey chirped. ".. Giant Wax Witch.. I haven't ever heard of a witch before, to be frank."

".. Yeah.. Sounds really weird.." Rei murmured, half-asleep.

".. M-Maybe you're right.." Ring sighed, holding her head. "I'll just.. Try going back to sleep, I guess.."

"I've done it." Kyuubey stared down at the body of Ring Huo, a swirling mass of pink cubes rotating in place above her chest, her darkened soul gem nestled tightly within the rotation. A small green glow slowly circled it, as a necessary fragment of Rei's magic was trapped with it.

"Now we wait. Witches will continue to populate the region.. While I originally wanted Rei to be lost, looking for her missing pieces.. Stripping her from her divine abilities was even better.. All is falling evenly into place. It truly is a shame that Juubey betrayed us, and Ryu's kind died off. It would be much easier to complete this plan if you two were still around.. But you have to cut the deadweight off of you in order for you to truly soar, I suppose." Kyuubey sighed.

"You're not completely alone here, Kyuubey."
